No telling how big the stack of claims waiting to be approved is

Combat Eng, I have a question for you. When they requested the pictures of your scars and they released your ratings for you do to it being a secondary condition was that something you had a hand in or did the VA just do it themselves. Im just wondering because I just heard back from the congressional aide and she told me they didn't include range of motion for my knee which they requested. I have a call into my DAV rep as he is in the office today. I am going to see since its a secondary condition if he can get them to release my referred condition ratings and finish up the ratings once I am out.

When did
I have a estimated completion date as of 8/24!!!

WAITING!!!! WAITING!!! WAITING!!!
When did you start your process, mine was 2 months to to be found unfit. I was told that 6 months relalistic. As for time lines I have been completing all phases quicker than expected. I hope this continues to be the case for me. Thanks again everyone for your well informed information.

I guess before they was going to finish up they contacted the doctor who completed my exam and requested better pictures of the scars, guessing she then contacted my PEBLO who then contacted me and told me that was holding up my proposed ratings, but then next thing you know the next day he called me and told me they deferred them and completed my proposed ratings

I'm already out and retired, my wait now is for my proposed ratings to be finalized

But when I was in IDES it took about 2 months after unfit to receive my proposed ratings

That is awesome for you, just need to continue to be patient. After you received your proposed raitings how long did it take to actually get out of the military? Thanks G

Any other details on that? I'm down to singing when you wish upon a star......

Thank you I was just wondering. Hopefully that happens with mine and I get that phone call soon. Ill talk to my DAV rep and see what he has to say.

I was told that Seattle has been speeding up their rating process this month.

This would be awesome, my Unfit memo was sent to VA on 31 July 2013, when I called the VA number the guy told me that the packet was accepted on 6 August 2013 and in the development phase, when I look at the E-bennies website I don't know which phase that falls under. While it still says gathering evidence, I am feeling a little better that I know my packet will hopefully be completed soon, so I can get my orders and head home to start a new career.

Probably about a month and a half, would've been less but the commander that signed off on my terminal leave denied my PTDY which denied my entire leave packet last minute so I had to put a entire new leave packet which took more time

It would defiantly be nice to get back home before the Holidays, I just would like a confirmed date, I have been in converse with Colleges and I have to apply for the Master's program before February. But I would be more comfortable if I was already home to go to the Colleges, see some of the processes for the programs in person before selecting one College or another.

hy did he denied your PTDY, that is messed up. Where you able to get it in the long run? I am excited it seems this whole process is moving along really swiftly. Can't wait for this part to be over.

Sheryl Kitchen when was did your Med board begin looks like we are at the same phase my packet was also accepted by the VA on the 6th of Aug. Hope everything moves quickly for both of us and everyone else for that matter. Respectfully G

Yes I hope it moves smoothly and quickly for all of us, I hate to see any of us suffer due to the constraints and timelines at the VA, I know we are all human and no system or person is perfect, but I am not going to lie and pretend that I am not more than ready to get out the Army and move on with my life and begin a new career and work on my Masters. I am so ready and it is hard when you know your getting out, just don't know a date, it can be a struggle when trying to do things such as new home, school, jobs etc.

Here has been my process thus far:
Profile Written- 17 March 2013

C&P Exams Completed- 8 July 2013
New Profile Written- 19 July 2013

Sent NARSUM to PEBLO- 25 July 2013
NARSUM sent to PEB- 25 July 2013
PEB Memo Found Unfit- 2 August 2013 ( I received the memo)
Send to Auburn WA for VA Ratings- 31 July 2013

I am sorry that your PTDY was denied, I find that to be unfair, but as a Commander he has that discretion however; you also have a right to know why it was denied, I hope he gave you a significant answer for denying. I sometimes yell at Commanders when they are saying No to PTDY, I try to get Commanders that work in my BDE to understand that when they get out they would like the PTDY as well to help them with their transition, and when I break it down that way, I can usually get the Commander to sign on the forms no issues. Again I wish they would have signed off on your Leave and I hope that you get all that you deserve even if the Commander is not taking care of you as a Soldier. Wish you the best as you continue to move forward...

Looks like 6 Aug is the date for several of us. We are all together in this, still one team one fight regardless of what it is. After 51 months of combat in the infantry Iraq and Afghanistan it was hard for me to except that I needed help, but in the end its best for my family and I owe it for the future soliders to be full there for them and I'm not anymore. I'm glad this forum is here for us, I don't even have face page, but I'm glad I joined this. Respect G

Thank you for your commitment to Service, we will all be Veterans along with our Brothers and Sisters, doesn't mean our Service has to end. We all have had our time, and some of us are injured, been injured etc, and I am thankful for every Soldier man or woman, who has committed to wearing the Uniform. I am super thankful to our brothers and sisters in arms who have lost their lives. I personally not just dealt with friends who were lost but my brother, was Killed in Iraq Nov 11, 2005. I try to remember to be strong for him, for all of our brothers and sisters who we have lost, and then I remember I am no good to my battles to the left or right of me if I am injured and can't perform at the ultimate best. So that is when I went in to get seen by the Doc, and while it crushed my heart to be told I need to go through an MEB and than ultimately was found unfit, was heartbreaking. I thought when I signed that dotted line I would be here to support and defend for 20 plus, but I am thankful for learning to take care of myself, it helped me take better care of my Soldiers and I am still proud every morning when I put my Uniform on, no matter how much time I still am allowed to wear it. We are all grateful and I am thankful. (sorry emotional moment and message)

Yea I was told that since I was staying in the state of NC was the reason of denial, but this was also around the time where units was being told to budget as tight as possible

I was found unfit for Psoriasis "controlled with Humira", is it possible to request a medical discharge before I recieve my VA ratings which according to everyones posts, appears to take forever. My situation is a little unique in that I am a National Guardsman but I am going through the active duty PEB process because this was diagnosed on my first deployment to Iraq...at the time my civilian doc prescribed humira, I didnt have a clue that the army would find me non deployable...especially after they deployed me just last year (3rd deployment) even after I disclosed that I was on Humira...they merely asked whether I could go off it for a year...which I did to my detriment. At any rate I just dont want to wait in purgatory if I dont have to.
