Have you ever completed the va form 21-22 and sent it in to the dav (this form assigns the dav as your POA)? I filled mine out and submitted it to the Seattle dav office last Tuesday and they already have me in their system as of Friday. I talked to the Seattle office on Monday, and he gave me my ratings after plugging my social in to 2 different systems. He was extremely knowledgable on the ides process. The lady that I spoke with last week basically gave me the same answer as what your getting in Alaska.
 
OK. Need some help here. I tried to call the 201 area code number and the lady there gave me the POA line. My PEBLO said it could be any day now. He told me that its probably at the PEB on its way back to him. The IDES dashboard says the same thing, completed VA ratings on 7 NOV 13. Here is the tricky one, Ebenefits has been at Gathering Evidence since at least June and has never moved. Not once. WTF??

Don't worry about Ebenefits, its not really designed for us in the IDES process. If the case manager does not update it then it is completely useless. Pay more attention to IDES dashboard and your PEBLO.

I asked how to get the POA for the DAV, but the guy ignored me so I will fill it out and hopefully have an answer from my PEBLO before I ever need the DAV.

It's up to the person who is rating your claim to update your ebenefits, if they don't update then you won't see any changes regardless of if you claim is done or not

OK. Thats who I was really believing anyway. He and his secretary have been incredibly helpful through this process.
 
TO use a DAV rep is it free?
 
Do you guys believe they can actually look into why my packet has been at Seattle for over 180 days?

i've read on here where someone's packet was in the wrong place and the dav rep looked in to it and suddenly a week later they had ratings. In my experience, I have no idea what they can a cannot do because last week i had a lady tell me that shouldn't see anything other than it was pending ratings and then this week this guy plugs my social in to two different systems and not only could he see that my ratings were done (which they were done just that day) but then on the other system he sees all kinds of info like the actual ratings and complete time frame, it was like magic.
 
I concur on the DAV rep, I spoke to a gentleman today with the DAV and he was able to give me WAY more details than the pointless VA 1800 number. He actually took the time to go line by line and inform me on exactly what the VA is doing with my claim. I highly encourage all veterans to use the DAV and don't even waste your time with the VA 1-800 number, just my two cents.
 
Ratings came in yesterday, 40%DOD 80%VA. I'm gonna have the lawyer look it over, but I can't seem to find anything they missed.

Indeed, the use of a VSO as a "veteran" could definitely result in positive outcomes in the preparation, presentation and prosecution claims under laws administered by the DoVA. But, to enlist the services of a VSO while still on Active Duty in the U.S. military is a consideration that should not potentially be signed just for the purpose of obtaining DoD IDES DoVA proposed ratings in my opinion.

To that extent, albeit a limitation of consent does exist, an authorization for VSO representative's access to records protected by Section 7332, Title 38, U.S.C. shall start for any records that may be in the VA facility having custody of the VA claimant records relating to include treatment for drug abuse, alcoholism or alcohol abuse, infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), or sickle cell anemia until officially revoked.

Bottom line is to be very well-informed, very cautious and very aware of any potential decision to appointment a VSO as a claimant's representative while in the DoD IDES MEB/PEB process as an Active Duty military service member in my opinion; it's valid for five years or until officially revoked!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Visit dav.org and find an office close to you and give them a call. As mentioned previously you will need to fill out and send in a VA form for them to have power of attorney to see anything for you.

Oh I know how you feel... I have some MH issues and if they were a fire IDES would be the equivalent of pouring gasoline on them.
