"Pending decision approval"

Hey all! Happy Friday! Just a quick question since you're all at about the same phase, my eBenefits has a historical that I just noticed that closed on the 31st, that means it's been sent back the PEB and I have about a month or so before I receive my findings? I've been reading through the forums and that seems to be the case. I don't have my timeline listed, but my NARSUM was signed and my package was submitted January 28th and I noticed that my eBenefits changed to "Pending Decision Approval" on the 30th of March and then today I noticed the historical claim that was closed on the 31st of March. Sound about right? Thanks in advance for your help!
Yes, it should be about a month you'll know your findings. Best wishes.

Anyone know why the estimated date of completion on Ebenifits keeps changing to a later date? This is the second time and it's dates way far out. Someone please tell me they can't be right! Lol fml

Thats happened to me, my estimated completion date is Feb 2017 :/

Update: so i finally called the VA at the main number, and not knowing if they even received a FIT/UNFIT memo, I asked for the date they received it from the PEB. Interesting enough she told me they did receive it in February. She also stated they sent proposed ratings back to DoD on April 8. They couldn't tell me the percentage but at least I know my case is moving. So then, I call my PEBLO and she tells me nothing. Not even if I was found unfit! I was basically told to just wait to get a call from the PEB admin so don't call her anymore. I'm very frustrated but also happy to know at least the ratings are in DoDs hands now. I'm just praying that they don't lowball me so I can accept and move forward.

My wounded warrior case manager showed me a memo that was sent out from the PEB. It stated that a tracking database was being updated incorrectly and that it was causing major issues with people getting notified of the wrong finding (FIT vs UNFIT) and until further notice, no "unofficial" findings were to be put out. The PEBLOs are only supposed to be giving official findings. This happened to me, although I was able to get round about notification by getting my PEBLO and the VA to admit the file had been sent for ratings.
My claim was closed with the VA on Mar 11th, and I got my results from the PEB Apr 16th. Others I have seen here have also got their official findings in about 1 month from the time their historical claim showed up.

Thanks for the info! Makes sense at least.

MA1, Ar you on West Coast?, I'm going through the same thing as you are currently Messsage me an I can explain my timeline to you, I'm also at the Pending Decision approval, with no unfit/fit answer but my package is PRE VA QA..?

@NAVYMA1, @Firefighter_142, My eBenefits also went historic at the end of March, so I'm right around where you're at. I'm West Coast. I'm just wondering how long it takes after the PEB receives the package back from the VA?

Hey @Firefighter_142 and @CoRaCa512 I will message you both. Yes I am also west coast. I never got updates on where my case was until I found out on my own that the VA sent the proposed ratings back to the PEB. And from this forum, it seems it takes approx 30 days from the time it goes to historical claim before people get official ratings.

For update purposes, I will post ratings here as well as other thread.

My attitude has been "what can they do kick me out, oh wait..." Med Sep isn't great, if you appeal (VARR, FPEB or both) they worst outcome is a medical separation. If you appeal you could be retired. It is worth fighting for now, once it's accepted MUCH harder to fight as a veteran via the BNCR. Even if the appeal doesn't work out you still will get a few more paydays before you're discharged. Between the FPEB & VARR appealing and making 30% is possible. Don't give up you've probably given 10+ years already, what's a few more months? PM me if you have any specific questions.

Spot on!

I hope service members understand how important it is to fight while in AD to claim and get what is rightfully deserved. Its up to us to make sure the "process" works as it was designed to be. Its way too much at stake to just let it be.

You need to also consider this... Do you have a family, etc... insurance for them is going to be about $500 per paycheck dependant upon where you work. If you don't and its just you, then insurance is non-existent until you do. The severance pay definitely is what I wanted, because my civilian job has top of the line medical insurance. But I am in the medical field on the outside so that helps on my part. My wife works so she buys hers and I buy my own through work and its no cost at all compared. So the non-retirement was the better option for me because it gave me money right away that I will be using to invest and do other supplemental income methods for.

Depends what you want out of your life, some people just waste the severance as well so you will have many different opinions.
