NMCSD Timeline

Honestly, I just listed everything. Some of the conditions were no longer active, so the VA rated me 0% for them...which still qualifies as a rating, so I am happy about that. My Command emailed me the NMA, and I completed it myself. Then, I turned it in and it was routed for the CO's approval.
I just met with the VA claim rep yesterday and he found 7 other conditions that I can claim on top of the MEB complaint. He said I should get a call today or Monday to schedule my appointments with the VA. He said with what I have I should be found unfit and found at least 30%, from his experience. I guess we will just have to wait and see. From what I am gathering it seems that once your MEB goes to the PEB, if you're fit you find out right away. If not then it takes awhile. So - if my MEB is at the PEB and I haven't heard anything for about 1-2 months, is it safe to say that I am unfit?

Thank you, @Camp P Marine and @BlackRepublic! I know it seems to be going pretty quick, so I don't want to get ahead of myself. Seeing as though there have been people waiting for several months. I don't even know when it got to the VA, the MSC just said it got there the beginning of Feb. So now I wait! Thank you both for the support and for taking the time to answer my question! I'm so anxious to find out!

My peblo told me the 60-90 window is where you want to be, she said anything less is probably fit.. so from that , I would assume so.

I had my first of 4 appointments with the VA C&P. On average - once the last one is completed - how quickly do they send the results back to the Dr who put me on the MEB? My last appointment is 12 April 16. I am hoping to get my package sent off by the end of April to the PEB. Praying to then find out if I am fit or unfit by the end of May.

It only took me about 3 weeks.

Some Doc's have one typed up already but for me it was about 2 days after my last c & p exam that I sat down and reviewed the NARSUM with the MEBLO.

@rahollow, My eBenefits changed to "Pending Decision Approval" today! It seems to be moving along well. How's your C&Ps going?

That is awesome!! I am excited to see what your results end up to be :D I have finished the first two; my one with the neurologist and the GP. Next week I see the Ophthalmologist and then my hearing test is on the 12, even though I have no hearing issues :P. Hopefully then the NAVSUM will be done quickly and my package can go out the end of April or earlier.

From what I've been seeing out here on the threads, is that I have about a month before I find out ratings, give or take. Which would be great news if everything comes back good to go and I can start moving on. You're halfway through your C&Ps! My NARSUM was ready pretty much the instant the VA completed their DBQs, so I hope you have the same type of luck. If you haven't already, get set up with a MyHealthEvet account so you can track when everything has been completed in your medical reports so you have a good idea when it's back in the hands of your doc. I think the end of April is probably right on the money!

I hope it is only a month for you! That would be awesome! I'm right there with you, it is so hard to prepare when it is all up in the air still. That would be great if that is the case with the NARSUM. Did your PEBLO call/email you when the NARSUM was completed? Did you just walk in or did you have to make an appointment? What is MyHealthEvet? So when you signed your NARSUM and they sent off your package, when did you find out you were unfit again?

My PEBLO called when my NARSUM was ready, he told me just to come in the following morning when he came in at 8:30 so we could go through the motions and sign everything. The website MyHealtheVet is where you can log on and read the information your VA doctor records after your visits. It's helped with going through the VASRD and finding verbatim where I should be rated. But when I signed up, I went to the Patient Library at the La Jolla VA Hospital and the woman in there verified my ID and set me up with an account right there. Then you'll have a good idea of when you should be expecting your NARSUM because you'll see all the VA doctors' reports have been completed. The PEB had my package for about a month and a half before I was found unfit. My package went off the 28th of Jan and the PEBLO office in building 26 at Balboa told me that it was with the VA when I stopped in there the middle of March. So I used the chat feature on eBenefits and asked them per the recommendation of another forum member when they received an unfit determination letter requesting for proposed ratings in reference to my recent claim and they said they received it March 15th. Then yesterday I got the update that it was "Pending Decision Approval", so that's where everything stands right now. Let me know if you need anything along the way! I'm happy to help where I can.

Awesome! Thank you so much! So - I registered for the MyHealthVet account. Were do I find the VA doctors reports on there? Thank you again for all the information! So - I am hoping to have my packet sent off the end of April so hopefully mid June I'll know whether I am fit or not?

No problem at all! Once you log in, you'll see an option called "Blue Button" and you can download your record to view or save as PDF. It gives you the option to view it all or select what you specifically want to see. The first time I just selected all until I got a better feel for what I was actually looking at. Mid June sounds about right, from reading through other posts, the trend seems to be 1-3mos.

Thanks again! It looks like I need to Authenticate my account. I signed up but it is not the Premier account, it is just the advanced account. So I will have to go to the VA hopefully today and have them authenticate it so I can have the Premier account. Once I do that and can look at my files, I may have more questions for you :) I will be glad when my package is off and gone because then at least I will know an answer will be coming soon (fit or unfit).

@CoRaCa512 I authenticated my account today so I was able to look at what the doctors wrote. How do you figuring it all out? Did you look up the ICD 10 codes for rating?

I have been waiting for my official ratings, my MEB process started last June, and Package sent off late September. I got my unfit at the end of December and I heard unofficial 2 weeks ago. So, I am assuming I will hear back about my official ratings in the next week or two weeks. The sooner the better, I have jobs I am waiting to accept and it's been an interesting process.

Hey there! So go to the VASRD, http://www.benefits.va.gov/warms/bookc.asp, and you should be able to navigate through it. After you read your DBQs, some of the language should reflect verbatim in the VASRD and give you a good idea of where you should be. Hope this helps!

I finished all my VA appointments, Tuesday was my last one. @CoRaCa512, How soon were you notified to sign the NARSUM after completing all your VA appointments?

@rahollow, I think it was within 10 days of finishing my appts. Once I had my final C&P and it was annotated in the myhealthevet records, it was all ready to be signed rather quickly. Did a doc from Neuro refer you to the MEB? My Neurosurgeon referred me and he took care of it all real quick after my exams were through.

That's awesome! I hope that is the case. I need to go on myhealthvet and see what is in there now that they are all done. Did you just go under the notes from the providers? I was referred by the Neuro Ophthalmologist with notes from my Neurosurgeon and my Oncologist.
