My Case Timeline

So i got my Unfit memo today so here is my updated timeline. I guess now its time for the long wait for the seatle va office to get the ratings done. I talked to the PEBLO about it today and was told yes they are supose to get the ratings back in 90-120 days but expect to wait 6-8 months because they are backloged. I hope they are just telling me that as a worst case scenerio and i get it back much sooner. I will keep everything updated as far as what happens with the SSDI and if i hear anything back sooner and when my ebenifits changes.

Also this is what the PEB found unfit

1)Rheumatoid arthritis, seronegative involving lumbar spine, bilateral hands, wrists, shoulders, hips, knees and ankles
v1-no v3-no v4-no
2)PTSD chronic combined with major depressive disorder single episode moderate
v1-yes v3-yes v4-yes
3)Thoracolumbar spine osteoarthritis; degenerative disc disease, possible congenital spinal stenosis
v1-yes v3-yes v4-no
4) Left shoulder rotator cuff tear and should impingement; stuatus post surgery
v1-yes v3-yes v4-no

If your going thru Seattle, you have awhile they are currently doing the ratings for SM that we're sent back mid May to June. The rating timeline is averaging 147.70 days. I am currently on day 94 and since their doing May and Junes now I have another 2 months. My Peb started on the 12 of July. Hope this helps. Just stay busy at work, enroll in school and prepare a budget because receiving benefits is averaging 107 days after your out of the service. Doesn't matter if your retired or medically separated. All this info is coming from my IDES Tracker on AKO which were the average timeline over the last 90 days. Hope this helps.

Yeah i have access to the new ides tracker on ako now and its pretty much saying the same thing. Which is fine with me if it takes alittle longer. Also i got a update on my SSDI i called the case manager for it today and he said they are just waiting on some documents from my doctors and they mailed off some forms i need to sign today so hopefully i will get those by the end of the week and that gets rolling along too. He told me the process can take anywhere from 10-90 days depending on the case but is usually alot less than the 90 day mark.

Just a update on the SSDI my wife and i both recieved packets from the social security office friday. We filled them out and i faxed them back this morning. I called the rep who is adjucating my case and he said he recieved them and they are just waiting on a couple of documents from one of my doctors and that will be it.

Also one small update from the peblo she sent me a screen shot showing my stuff is at the va pending ratings>

Good news, indeed; it's only a matter of time at this point! :)

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Also i just forwarded all of my med board info to the aw2 so i can try and apply for the SCAADL program. I will keep everything updated as time goes. Also if anyone has some advice my ebenefits is stuck showing that my requested evidence is past due even though my PEBLO sent me a screen shot showing they recieved all of my info. I have been trying to call the VA to get a status update but havent had any luck. I just dont want any hold ups.

Do an IRIS inquiry on the VA website.

Grizz,

Do you know how long the inquiry takes? I submitted mine 10 days ago and haven't heard back yet.

Finaly got ahold of the va on the phone. The said nothing is past due but right now the va office in Seattle is averaging a turn around time of 15 months. I don't know how accurate that is but she did say she seen some recent activity in my file so hopefully that wasn't bs. Also the aw2 people called back and said I qualified for their program so they enrolled me now I have to figure out how to get a eval for SCCDL by a va or dod doctor since I am remote and my PCM is a civilian. Hopefully my peblo can work something out with the docs where she is to fill the paperwork out for me.

I will keep this updated with the time it takes for the iris inquiry to go thru and get a answer back. I sent one early today so as soon as i hear something back i will post on here again.

Glad you got enrolled into AW2. Let them know you want yo apply for SCAADL. They should be able to help you. According to the DOD instruction for SCAADL it has to be certified by a DoD or VA physician. If you don't have one, they are supposed to make one available to review your case and certify your DD Form 2948. The Army has several other forms that AW2 should help you with getting completed. Other branches seem a little less complicated as far as the initial SCAADL application is concerned. But, stick with it. AW2 is there to help you.

Grizz,

I did one on October 22nd and just a call related to it yesterday. The person who called said it took so long because of the government shutdown.

One question does anybody know if the VA goes off the day they recieve the paperwork or the day the claim was filed to start working on the claim or place it on the order it will be worked on.

They are supposed to go off the day they receive it, but they are as tight-lipped as the AF PEBLOs with information.

Just got word today from the local social security office that my application was aproved with a starting date of sept. 2012. They said I should be getting paid any day now. I am stoked it was a first time go.

Indeed, congratulations on your "disabled" determination for SSA SSDI disability compensation benefits! Enjoy your forthcoming SSDI back payment, too! :D
