My Case Timeline

Finaly got ahold of the va on the phone. The said nothing is past due but right now the va office in Seattle is averaging a turn around time of 15 months. I don't know how accurate that is but she did say she seen some recent activity in my file so hopefully that wasn't bs. Also the aw2 people called back and said I qualified for their program so they enrolled me now I have to figure out how to get a eval for SCCDL by a va or dod doctor since I am remote and my PCM is a civilian. Hopefully my peblo can work something out with the docs where she is to fill the paperwork out for me.

15 month time the give you is a automated time they give everybody( vets who are already seperated also) also since ebenefits isn't made up for SM's going through IDES is can be very confusing and misinforming so don't get stressed

Thanks for the info on the VA. Just to expand alittle more on my update because i updated the status from my phone earlier. I recieved a phone call from a rep at the local social security office stating that my claim was aproved and was released today. I have no idea what it means to be released but i am guessing its a good thing. The lady told me they are back dating me to september of 2012 so i dont have to wait the five months and i should get a decent amount of back pay. She said the payment could kick in anytime between now or up until the second wensday of the month. I guess that will be my normal payment date for the SSDI. She also set up a appointment for me for thursday to file the claims for benefits for my kids. She didnt know how much the back pay would be or how much the monthly amount will be. She said they should be able to look it up for me thursday when i go in or i am going to have to wait until i get my letter in the mail. Other than that i am pretty excited it was a first time go. After all of the of the horror stories i have heard from everyone on this board about the social security office i never thought it would get aproved. Just so everyone knows as soon as i got the complete med board packet in hand i went straight over to the social security office with it. i gave them that my unfit memo and everything i have recieved from my peblo. Also i contacted my state social security case worker once a week just to see if he needed anything else. (not necessarly to bug him but to check on things in a nicer way). If anyone has any questions about filling out the forms or filling out the surveys they send you and your spouse let me know and i will try and help as best as i can. Also THANKS TO EVERYONE on this forum who have either posted before me or have responded to my questions with out this board i would be lost in this whole process and i would be going into everything blind. so thanks alot.

Just signed on to my social security account and it shows i will get the back pay tomorrow and that i will recieve my monthly payments on the 2nd wensday of every month

So i checked the social security website last night and it shows how much i get a month and how much the backpay is. It also said that the backpay has a payment date of today. I was hoping to to wake up with a nice check deposited in my bank account but nothing was their. Does anyone know if it takes a couple of days after the payment date or am i missing something here. I double checked the account and routing numbers for the direct deposit and everything was good.

Indeed, it may take a couple of days for the SSDI back payment to official post to your bank account.

To that extent, I would suggest that you call the SSA to make an inquiry as to when the SSDI back payment will be deposited; it can't hurt to ask the question in my opinion?

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Quick update I received my SSDI BACKPAY today!!!!

Also i know i am really early on in the med board process but because i am so inpatient and i know this is a bad quality to have durring this process i called the va again for an update. They said that they recieved all of my paperwork and that she said she could see that it was in the review process and someone was currently working on it and it shouldnt be to much longer. Here is a snapshot of my ides page so everyone can kind of see what they are tracking. i know its really early so its hard for me to believe her that they are working on it and it shouldnt be to much longer. The one thing she did straighten out for me was i told her that the last person i spoke with told me it was a 15 month or longer wait. She said she doesnt know what drugs that person was on but if they would have actually pulled up my case and read it that they would of seen it is currently being worked on. Also in the next week or so i am going to post all of the ROMs they did to see if anyone can give me a guestamite of what my percentages might be.

I must have done something wrong the screenshot didn't upload I will try again later

If we're being medically separated (DA 20%, VA 100%), when will we get our separation pay?

I wish i could help you with that i have no idea. From what i understand the army pays the next pay period after you seperate for retirement but the va right now is averaging over 90 days. As far as being medically seperated i dont know who pays it or how long it takes

Today i went to the social security office and filed the paperwork to get the benefits for my kids. I also contacted the people to get a DAV rep it seems like that might be someone that could help out later down the road. I just wish the AW2 lady at knox would keep her appts. She has made two appts with me for a phone interview so i can apply for scaadl and she has not called for either and when i call her i get no answer. I have not been able to get ahold of this lady at all. And people say the PEBLOS are bad

It is pretty random on how it happens, some get it the weeks after separation and others wait 6 months or longer. It all depends on if your paperwork is straight and if your info was entered correctly in DFAS.

My ratings were done on Friday afternoon and sent to PEB Friday evening.
How long between PEB and PEBLO? PEBLO says about 10 days; how long
in reality?

From my current experiences within the DoD IDES process, anywhere between 10 days to 2 months unfortunately!
