I wonder how long exactly it takes to write an email? I haven't heard squat from my PEBLO during this whole pile of shit unless I initiated the contact. I don't know how people sleep knowing they are doing a half assed job that will affect the rest of someone's life. I have been a mechanic for a long time and if I sent someone's auto home with them knowing I didn't do my best I don't believe I really could sleep a full night. Is that unusual? It seems like pride in your work is going the way of the dinosaur. Present company excluded of course. Thanks, you guys here at the forum. You have kept my sanity more intact than it would have been. Might be your best bet just to call him or go to his office! I know when I was active my PEBLO didn't check his emails daily
I am in the Reserves and can't just go by and talk to her. I will give her a call Monday and shake her tree a little bit. I was wondering about your SSDI. When did you apply for yours? Have you been rated through them yet? I have friends that tell me to go ahead and do it now and some tell me to wait until I am rated through the VA. What is your opinion on that? I guess one more couldn't hurt. Thanks.
I applied for SSDI while in inpatient rehab for my injury, so maybe a month post injury, At that time I haven't even started MEB or claim with VA, I was still in the early stages but recovery, but when I applied it was clear cut I wouldn't be able to do any type of work for a while
Id say go head in apply if your eligible to do so, the worst that can happen is a denial and then you appeal
A lot of guy/gals go through a lot in order to get approved.. Lawyers, appeals etc but my injuries were just so significant it just took minimal paperwork for a first time approval
Thanks for your advice and I hope you are doing better with your injuries. My injuries are not quite that sever but they are making me change my job. I am having to go back to school because I can no longer be a mechanic. I don't know how that effects SSDI. Thanks again.
From another opinionated perspective since the off topic SSDI inquiry was made, it's in your best interest to apply for SSA SSDI benefits as soon as possible in order to potentially preserve the integrity of any due SSDI back pay which is dependent upon the established disability onset date by the SSA DDS.
Moreover, I would highly encourage you to read and become very familiar with the rules and regulations of the SSA SSDI process in order to better prepare yourself upon the completion of all required SSDI questionnaire documentation. To that extent, myself and other PEB Forum members have provided numerous threads and posts about our experiences referencing SSA SSDI; it’s not legal advice…just potential feedback, insight and suggestions about the process.
Albeit it's very challenging to obtain a "disabled" SSDI determination, it's not impossible to obtain a "disabled" SSDI determination if all medical conditions are well documented by military and civilian healthcare providers with strict attention to detail during an applicant's completion of all required SSA SSDI questionnaire documentation; in my opinion.
Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

My adustment disorder with depressed mood was not on NARSUM... But was on 3947 ( got added later on)... Do u think if that might delay my process even more...
My reconsideration results from va side for my back were sent to PEB on 23 april 2013... I was just supposed to receive my separation orders if this AD shit didnt happen

I don't think it will cause any more delay than the others with AD on their 3947, but it won't cause less either. You will still need to get a memo from BH, meeting the criteria established, and then your case will proceed.

Thank u peblo11... What procedure will they follow as that was not part of my va c&p exam? It wasnt part of my proposed ratings...
It got added after all that... Do i see the va doc again before they process my paperwork or do i just get the da 199 like others with AD do?
Did you have a behavioral health issue from the VA? If so, that is what they rate. Remember, and this is for everyone, the VA C&P is the examination of record.
I'm hoping they get your memo done so they can present it to you and then upload it to the PEB. I wonder if your MTF/MEB has put together a memo that passes the criteria laid out by the PEB/OTSG? If not, maybe they should ask the PEB which MTF's memo they should use, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel. In any event, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
No.. I did not claim then coz of the fear of loosing security clearance... By the time i was sure that it wouldnt effect it...the c&p was already done... then during the process after few months... I wanted to address BH issues and thought might be unfitting... Instead ended up "AD with depressed mood" medically acceptable being added on my new 3947...
But now i am on hold up without even having a chance to see a va doc till now... I dont know how it works.. As my AD was never even addressed at c&p...
How would the VA rate me without c&p? Further...How would i get my da 199 released from this stupid hold up? Thanks a lot peblo11
Its hard to imagine... I cant get da 199 without va rating me for AD... I cant get va rating without bringing it up at c&p... FML.. Sry am going crazy
