this might be a dumb question... But I still want to ask. Recently medically retired from the army. Would I be allowed to join the coast guard or anything? Or am I not allowed to try to join any branch?

I am located at Fort Benning, GA. I do not have orders yet, but was finally able to talk Retirement Services in to telling my what my last day in the Army will be - July 16. My question is this - I am pretty sure in the Retirement Services brief they say we would not be able to final out on...

Miserable. I submitted a memorandum requesting to clear CIF early ... and went today to turn everything in. I have to go back Monday to turn in a couple more things and initiate a FLIPL :( But at least I got a head start on it.

Is there a way to figure out your final out date before you get orders? That is all I am trying to figure out. Trying to backwards plan leave, ptdy, clearing, and 1 last final surgery/recovery. And plus my boss wants to me create an elaborate timeline of the rest of my time here ...

I contacted CIF here at Benning and they have me a POC at CIF to send a memorandum requesting to clear early. A couple days later I got an email back stating I was good to go.

Ahhh. I understand. 90% VA is $1,743.48 according to the tables on the VA website (90% veteran only). So technically since the VA 90% is greater than the DOD 30% ... I'll receive the $1,743.48 untaxed? I think that's right. If I'm still getting confused I'll just wait for the paperwork to come...

Is there any way to contact the PEB and see what the hold up is? My case was rated by the VA and sent back to the PEB a month ago ... and I have not heard a single word. I thought the only thing they had to do was look at what the VA rated me on my unfit conditions, and match those ratings...

My PEBLO has been a lot of help so far, so I feel like if there was any way she could speed things up, she would. And I hate to keep bugging her about it ... because she always gives me the same answer and I know I am annoying her.

I can't even get my stuff back from the PEB ... 3 days away from them having it for a month.
