Hello, I just found out last month I’m being taken off of TDRL and separated with severance at 20% but on my orders it says it was determined to be combat related. What does this mean as far as my severance pay is concerned? Thanks for the help.

The only formal contact they've made is to let me know about my TDRL evaluation coming up. This was almost a year ago and I just got the call today saying I had an appointment. Nothing about my condition has been contacted about though.

I've been seen by my personal doctor but the VA has always been updated with my address. The women's clinic attempted to establish care with me but I was already seeing a private doctor. They didn't specifically contact me about care for my back though.

Also is there any chance I'd be returned to AD? That's literally my worst nightmare as I'm also 70% PTSD for MST.

I was placed on TDRL in 2015 rated 40% for lower back problems. I saw a doctor in Boston after I got out of the Army but was basically told outside of physical therapy and minor pain management (NSAIDS) it was just something I had to live with. Because of that I haven't been seeing any doctors...

i just got a letter saying I need to schedule my reevaluation for TDRL. I was medically retired and put on TDRL with a 40% back issue. I am currently 90% with the VA. I was wondering if for this reevaluation it will be a full reeval (psych, eyes, etc.) or just them reevaluating my back since...

My packet was sent to the PEB and I had an unfit memo the next day. They're usually pretty quick. And I was told that any new conditions will need to be processed and evaluated after your current claim is complete.

If it says "Pending Decision Approval" that usually means that it's still waiting to be officially approved over at the VA. Once they are complete with the rating it typically changes back to "Gathering Evidence" and also says "requested separation documents" meaning your DD214. Call your PEBLO...

It took exactly 1 week from the time that I signed my 199 to the time I hit TRANSPOC/got my "final out" date (which is 90 days from the time you hit TRANSPOC). You would have to be granted your 20 days PTDY to accomplish the May 1st figure, from what it sounds.

I called Medical Separations/Transitions this morning and they said I was second to last on the list of names that populated today with a final out date of June 22nd. With leave and PTDY (hopefully it's approved) my sign out date would be April 20th!!

The VA does not find your conditions fitting or unfitting. That is the job of the PEB.

lakerimff, when you say you received TRANSPROC what do you mean? They called you? or how does that work? I signed my 199 yesterday and want to know what to exptect.

I got unofficial ratings over the phone from my PEBLO 15 days after my packet went from the PEB to the VA. Still waiting on my 199 though.

My unfit determination had a preliminary memo sent to my PEBLO from the PEB so you might ask for that. Typically, your unfitting conditions are going to be the same as whatever "did not meet retention standards" on your NARSUM. And no, your opportunity to look over it would have been the 5 days...
