Wait Time For Providence, RI

Well it's been 14 days since the VA finished my ratings and sent them back to the PEB. My Peblo still hasn't called me in yet. The PEB needs to hurry up and send them to her already. I am hoping she will call me in today or sometime this week. I am hoping to be out of here sometime in June.

Very good points ^
I do know that the more complex a case and number of claims, and the extent of those can dictate the time as well. A friend of mine only had a knee issue, but 4 surgeries and her entire package from start to finish was 1 month. Seeing that makes me believe that it's all situational.

I am not pending decision approval as of yesterday in the system...who should I be calling and when should I call to try and get ahead of this thing? Or better yet, who could provide the best info?

That means they have made electronically available for the PEB to get. Which in turns mean that your 'PROPOSED RATINGS" can at a bare minimum be viewed.

So i just got word back from my PEBLO...proposed ratings are 20% DOD, and 100% VA.

Well my Peblo just called me my ratings are in I am going there now wish me luck and pray for me please.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

40% Air Force 80% VA permanent retirement. I am so happy. This is an amazing day for me. I have 60 days of leave saved up plus I'll get 20 days of permissive that is a total of 80 days so I should be out of here pretty quick.

Are you good with these? Depending on the situation this would be the optimum scenario for quite a few even without tri-care and an ID card.

Are you planning on taking your terminal and permissive where you are at? I've noticed this is common, my plan is to final out of my base and then take my terminal/permissive where I will be living.

Actually with 100% you still would get insurance for you and your family right? I'm at 20/90 and stuck between a rock and a hard place...

Could someone really quick break down the % land marks....

What do you mean landmarks?

After reading on this forum and else where I have seen a lot of different understanding as far as benefits. so for example what I mean by landmarks:
<30-severance
>50-keep your tricare for the family ect

<30 = Severance Pay-DOD is correct.
I'm not sure about >50 from DOD entitlements.

yea that is what I was saying. Those were just examples. there are a lot of different ideas of what a certain % gets you. just wondering. Thanks though

I am ok with it. I was hoping for 30% DOD, but with 100% VA as long as they document it as total and permanent then I would qualify for CHAMPVA insurance for the family and there is a VFW program to supplement the difference.

So even with the severance I should be good with the 100%. I just have to wait until my PEBLO receives it from the PEB to see if the key terms are there for qualifying for the insurance and whatnot. Either way my family is going to be taken care of with this.

A lot of it changes from state to state on the benefits by percentage and what you rate. When it comes to federal entitlements, <30 DOD is severance, >30 DOD is tricare and retirement. >50 VA and you are covered for anything through the VA. Family insurance through the VA is at 100% total and permanent disability. Outside of that the benefits vary by state.

Thanks man,
That is what I was referring to. I should be able to keep tricare >50 <100 at a discounted rate i think.. We will see.

jubs80,

Do you have combat related conditions? Was your unfitting condition incurred in a combat zone?

What is you VA rating without the unfitting condition(s) figured in? Is it still 100%?

Mike

I do have conditions that were incurred in a combat zone. Not 100% what it would be without. I'm still waiting on the 199. My percentages were just told to me by the PEBLO and I should see the ratings and percentages of all in about 2 weeks. I'll let you know when I see it all first hand.
