VA PTSD Reeval Timeline Question

Sitting pretty on TDRL currently. VA opened up a claim for PTSD reeval and 30 days later I went through CP exam which was favorable. Now I am informed via VA tracker extension my claim is sitting in National Queue temporary jurisdiction with the RO of the place I retired from being normal jurisdiction for over 60 days now - most of cases I see on Reddit NWQ is never a temp jurisdiction. Question is what is the experience as far as timeline goes in getting that claim decided? Am I for multi-year ride like some vets?

Second reason I ask is that I would rather VA reeval my MH condition and DOD matching it(Hopefully to PDRL) as opposed to fighting them in reducing it. According to (DOD) disability lawyer DOD must now match VA rating while on TDRL up to 18 months if reeval is done by them as opposed to DOD so I am hoping that gets done before I get called into TDRL reeval instead.

Sorry if its all sounds like a rant... please let me know if this is wrong section to post this.

I'm in a similar situation. I received my rating for PTSD from the VA and DOD through the IDES process effective July 2023 and placed on TDRL I was scheduled for a reevaluation by the VA in December 2023 and the reevaluation was conducted at the end of January 2024. I received a favorable rating on the reevaluation in May of this year. At the end of April, I received a letter from JBSA Fort Sam Houston that I was scheduled for my DOD reevaluation in August of this year and to contact them if I hadn't heard from them by August. I was not contacted by August so I contacted the number in the letter. They stated they were scheduling the reevaluations according to "end date of TDRL" and that I could expect to be scheduled around November/December of this year due to the large amounts of packets they had. The lady did tell me that I would have not have to go to an actual hospital/clinic and that my reevaluation would be done via phone/video conference. I'm hoping my reevaluation with the VA will stand for my DOD reevaluation and I can move on the to the PDRL.

I know with AF, DOD has to honor VA reevaluation for up to 18 months. Based off what my AFW2(Like Wounded Warrior program) rep said is that I can forward the reeval to TDRL board and they can pencil whip it to what VA determined then decide if I stay on TDRL or not. I dont know how true that is, but I plan forwarding that reeval when it gets through.

How long did your MH reeval take from them starting to finishing it? Mine is still stuck in NWQ purgatory going on 110 days(I know, rookie numbers to some).

Yes, DOD has to honor VA reevaluation for 18 months. My VA mental health reeval was on 18 January 2024 and I received my "continued" rating of 70% at the end of May 2024.

Thanks. Curious to see how it turns out for you. Best of luck!

Same to you. If I'm not contacted by November 1st, I plan to call again because I hope they'll honor my VA reevaluation and get me on the PDRL.
