I have yet to receive my 199 and my case was sent to the VA on 5 AUG. According to my MSC, I am the only one of his cases started in Mar that still has not completed the process :-( Thankfully, the VA has finally finished my proposed ratings.
You and I are on the same time frame, but I'm still waiting. Was told that the proposed ratings are done, but after talking to the VA today that might not be the case. Hopefully it works out for us and everyone else soon.

Just talked to my MSC but didnt get any new info. The only thing he could tell me is that seatle has my paperwork and that right now they are averaging between 120-180 days. It sucks because its such a big window.

If it helps anyone I was put on TDRL and separated in NOV13. Called VA phone bank and was told since I was a IDES case they should have made a decision on my final ratings within 30 days of discharge. This has not happened so she put in a request to see why. I was told I would get a call in 5 days with an explanation. A week and a half later I received a letter from the VA stating nothing more than previous dates I already knew of and that they expect to make a decision in the very near future. Nothing has updated on my ebenefits since oct 2012 which was when I started the IDES process. It says that evidence is past due and they are preparing to make a decision. I was also told that seattle VA received all the pertinent paperwork for me back in OCT 13 to make a decision. If anyone has any insight or questions please feel free to share. Please take the negativity somewhere else. We all know your smart and some of us don't spend our entire lives on the forum.

I also talked to my MSC today and that it is at a rater or the proposed ratings. Could be anywhere from 1-3 weeks for that. He also said that it depends if the rater is senior or not because that means a extra signature which can add time. Of course after this it goes to the PEB. I'm well over 180+ days at the VA.

I have been trying to reach my MSC and he has been unavailable for a week or two now. Or at least is not answering phones. But I have noticed that about him before when I had a question. I really think they should add some transparency to this process. The IDES update to My MEB/PEB was great but there is still a black hole for VA Ratings. From what I have been reading on here, I think mine is doing okay since its proceeded to preparation for decision while still awaiting VA Ratings? Not sure how long it actually stays on that in ebenefits. If I am correct, once those ratings come back the process may already be complete just not updated on either website? I really do not want my percentages to come back until march time frame but i still hate waiting and want them now haha.

Mines took 5 months post retirement out of Seattle to expect 1-5 months, whoever you spoke with should have given you a bigger window than 30 days

never mind I'm a dummy, I see where it says requesting seperation documents now
Where do you see this at? Because I'm at prep for devotion for the 4th time but this time it's requesting somthing from Seattle VAMC. The last time they needed clarification on documents it went to Puget Sound VAMC. Hopefully this is a good thing.

Ok thanks. How long should I expect to be in the pending discision approval? Does this mean my 199 is coming soon? Not knowing my timeframe is killing me.

Yeah, kinda fast compared to some but good luck, I hope you get yours this week!
Appreciate it thanks for the info, hope it works out for all of us.

I have a question for anyone with experience with a VARR- how often does the VA request additional exams when you do this?

From my experiences within the DoD IDES MEB/PEB process, I have not heard of any occurrences of this event to happen albeit it seems that the VBA could potentially request additional C&P Examinations as upon based what's submitted within the VARR in my opinion.

Unfortunate as it may seem, please ensure that the VARR request includes medically supportable evidence which should preclude the potential assignment of any additional DoVA C&P Examinations upon VARR submission.

Hmm, did this unusual event happen to you upon the submission of a VARR request?

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

Changed my mind on the VARR today and signed my 199. I'm satisfied.

OK, good deal indeed; congratulations! :)

To that extent, have you received your official orders for military disability retirement to date?

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

It's a bit complicated but my wife and I talked and were satisfied with the 30% that the IPEB gave me. The VA messed up something during my initial exams but to wait 3+ months on a VARR wouldn't be worth it because if they did give me an additional 10% for that condition my total rating still would have only been 30% (since 10+10+10+10=30% in VA math). I'll get it fixed once I get out.

Hmm, a very efficient and thorough thought process in my opinion! ;)

To that extent, good deal and again congratulations to your forthcoming military disability retirement!
