You need to calm down. Pointing your anger at us is not the appropriate response.
We are here to support each other and help each other.
Ebenefits DOES matter, but go ahead and think otherwise. There are a lot of beneficial tools located there.
It also matters in your claim, it will help give a better estimation by watching it.
Believe this or not, the military is waiting on the VA. So tracking you claim only makes sense.

Most of us realize that we are only working on guestimates.
But, whatever, go ahead yell at us, it doesnt matter, we arent humans in the military, right?

Yeah, I get more info from the Ebenefits website than I do from my assigned PEBLO.

I got a call from VA today, yes, on Veteran's Day. He was responding to an IRIS that I had submitted to have my IDES Dashboard corrected. As of today, it is showing 97 days and by days counted since my unfit memo, it should be 126. When I asked for the official date that the VA had received my claim, I was very surprised by the answer: June 5th, the day I filed, and the date that the VA uses to put age on a claim. So, My IDES dashboard says 97...I'm actually at 146. 50 days off! I thought I was just 29 days short.
While I was at it, I asked how I could get my IDES Dashboard data repaired and received another surprise: VA doesn't have anything to do with the IDES Dashboard, it's not a function of VA.
Concerning Seattle, I have seen several people on here with Unfit Memo's dated around the first part of July, and a few dated the 9th like mine. Some dated after the 9th have already been rated. There is obviously no rhyme or reason or schedule for claims to be rated. Status changes that I have read about have only been status changes, I don't know of anybody with a July Unfit Memo that has actually gotten their ratings from VA (received a packet in the mail).

Is there anybody out there that got their Unfit Memo in July and has physically held their ratings in their hands? Just asking. I really think VA needs to give up information on what order claims are rated.

One more thing: The guy calling me today was a surprise; so was most of the information he gave me. After all I have learned on here, seen how worthless the IDES Dashboard is, and scratched my head at EBenefits Claim Status, I'm at a loss as to what to believe. Thinking of every source of information, who and what out there is truly reliable? Why and how is VA allowed to be secretive about how they handle claims. What outside source monitors VA claim processing?

I talked to my PEBLO today. She told me the packets are not rated in the order received. Which makes no damn sense to me. My unfit was in May and sent up 2 days later. Eben says same crap, Ides says same crap. Peblo says same crap lol. IRIS says same crap. So they prob just piling new cases on top of old cases. Oh well, lets go drink beer!

Isnt that congress that is supposed to be monitoring the VA?

yea because we can expect politicians to do anything except for take care of who is lining their campaign pockets.

So I'm pretty sure the IDES dashboard is pure torture. I called the VA and they said my proposed ratings were done. Then I call my PEBLO and she says her system says they are NOT complete. I'm only on day 91 of waiting but I hate being told two different things. Shame...Shame...Shame on them haha.
Same exact thing here, case been in Sea for 100 days now. This needs to end ASAP

For anyone who's stuck in the 1-2 month VA limbo, my MEB Packet was sent to Seattle at the tail end of July, was received by Seattle on 6 AUG 2013, my ratings came back 22 OCT 2013. 40%DOD/50%VA. PDRL. Don't give up hope! It's the worst waiting game ever.

My question is, I signed my DA199 on 28 OCT 2013. I haven't received my retirement date yet. Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to get the retirement/final out date? And do you think I will be home by Christmas? I have 30 days of leave accrued.

Have you contacted you base RSO to see if you have one?

Word of advice for anyone dealing with Seattle, if you get the mindset that once your unfit that it can take 2-5 months before u get ratings, use that time to plan ahead and save as much money as possible because unless you have a job lined up, you income will drop drastically

I'm assuming RSO means Retirement Service Office? If so, then yeah I have. I've already been to the pre-retirement brief, and the Survivor Benefits Plan brief. I've also turned in all of the paperwork my counselor has requested. I talked to her last Thursday, and she just said she was waiting on the date to come in.

If I remember correctly there is a document that is sent to your command requesting a date. At least that is what happened when my soldier was put on TDRL back in Feb. My commander called me in, showed it to me and we discussed it. I wonder if that is the hold up.

Hm..I'm not sure. My commander has been really helpful through the entire MEB process, and is constantly asking how he can help, so he'd definitely inform me if he received a document.

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

To date, a smooth DoD IDES timeline indeed!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

Yeah, I get more info from the Ebenefits website than I do from my assigned PEBLO.
My PEBLO acts like I am asking her to perform miracles the few times that I do call. She acts like that, yet never called me when my unfit letter came in, it was by a stroke of luck I came in with enough time to sign it.

OK HERE IS THE FUCKING DEAL..UNTILL YOU ARE OUT OF THE MILITARY, eBENEFITS DOES NOT FUCKING MATTER!!!!!!!!!

Settle down, the military is telling Service Members to watch the site. Ebennies is a great and useful tool only IF the VA updates it like they are supposed to. Just like the Army's MyMEB/PEB webpage, since PEBLOs don't like it, they don't update it, so in effect it is a useless tool.

There are many things on there that many do not know they can do like changing the Montgomery Bill to the Post 9/11 Bill, find forms for the Vocational Rehabilitation program and other useful VA forms.

Next time, be polite, educate yourself on the system. You are going to have one hell of a time with the VA because it IS a system, and you will lash out at the people who are already disgruntled and feel unappreciated. In the future I suggest you ignore postings about E-benefits and filter your anger in a better manner.

Well said, indeed! ;)

I am really torn because if the process takes longer it helps with me trying to sell my house, but the longer I stay here the longer I am away from family and being free of the Army. On the bright side I am still getting a paycheck and TA.

If that's the case the all you need to do is get that date so you can clear, so yea you should be home before Christmas

Ebenefits changed so i called my DAV rep. He said my ratings were done and sent back to peb. 40% DoD 80% VA.

Congratulations, indeed! :)

That's awesome news. Thanks for the insight. I just hope that date comes in soon. It's been a little over two weeks now.
