VA Proposed Rating of 90%: 20DEC2023

Everything seems to be moving very fast as of late. I saw my case open and close the same day on the 19Dec2023 and was able to call the Va 1-800# to get them to email the proposed ratings to me. How much longer should it be before I hear back from the DOD?

2-6 weeks after the VA rates, but you may be 3-7 weeks. Nothing happens the week on Christmas/New Years holidays.

Where did you see it open and close same day? The app? Mine was sent to PEB on 06NOV23 and nothing is showing yet on the app under history. Am I looking in the right place? Thank you so much for the update.

I checked VA.gov under the claims tab. As soon as you log in it should pop up any claims that are in and processing. When it did finally populate the letter isn’t downloadable and they don’t actually mail it to you. I just called the VA and told the rep they forgot to email me the link like they said they would and she believed me. I will update as things keep moving along

I was sent to PEB September 13th and went into QA stage on November 7th. I called the PEB service line last week and was told that I should expect my findings within two weeks, so early January. My Peblo kept telling me by the end of November so your best bet is to either wait or call the PEB service line to get an accurate timeline.

Apologies for multiple replies, but the general timeline they will give you once the QA stage is started is around 45 days. That timeline may change due to the holidays and lack of workers, but should be around that time frame give or take a few days.

No worries! What is the service number I can call?

(571) 442-0592. Sometimes they answer and sometimes they don’t. You just have to keep calling until someone does. All day today I got sent straight to voicemail so you just have to continue to try until you are able to reach someone.

Do I need to say anything in particular to get information? That sucks that you have to call repeatedly to get through. Definitely doesn’t help with the anxiety.

I basically just called and told them my Peblo sucks and I haven’t been given updates in months. After that the guy I spoke to took my information down and scrolled through the list and gave me my 2 week timeline after looking to see where my case was at. Since your proposed rating was only a week ago they may not be able to give you a ton of information it will at least be able to tell you exactly what phase it’s at in PEB.

I wish I could say the anxiety gets better with time, but in my experience it just gets worse the more you think and stress about it. Its a stressful time so use the time that you’re getting paid to be in this process to set your future up as best you can.

I’m also west coast and the number is a Virginia number so just make sure you remember the time zone differences as well if you’re not on the east coast.

its been 13weeks since va closed my case and gave me my proposed rating and haven't heard anything yet.
That is an outlier.

DoD doesn’t always meet its schedule.

Oh yeah, I know that. I wasn't meaning anything by my comment other than it may seem like an outlier, but that seems to be where we really are at, at this point.

Hope it didn't come off as argumentative.

No offense taken. Different perspectives are welcomed. It use to be much worse. The process use to run 18-24 month.
