I am being medically retired with a 50%DOD all combat related and 100% VA rating. Just signed my 199. I was wondering how percentage of CRSC plays is it on 100% CRSC percentage since the whole DOD combat related or just 50%? Been trying to figure it out since my DOD is combat related. If you have any way to explain it better please let me know.

DoD % is based on unfitting, not necessarily combat related. It is possible to have combat related illness/injury that was found fitting. So one could have a DoD rating of 50 and VA rating of 100 and get 0 CRSC for the DoD rating and some percentage of CRSC on the VA rating.

DFAS has an excellent explanation of CRSC on their website.

My unfitting conditions is combat related

I was wondering if they look at va rating also when it comes to CRSC or just DOD. Geuss I could have asked a different way.

CRSC is eligible for ANY condition that is both "combat related" and rated by the VA

ok that is what I was looking for didn't know if it was just DOD rating for unfit or the VA rating for combat related.

Thanks for all the info on this, guys. I thought only the unfitting conditions were considered for CRSC. Now I know better.
