My Timeline

Sooooo......here it is!!

I have been permanently retired!!

DoD 70%
VA 80%

Rating breakdown:

Migraines: 50%

Neurocardiogenic Syncope w/ dizziness: 40%

Plantar Fasciitis: 20%

Tinnitus: 10%

Degenerative Disk Disease: 0%

My migraines are only at a temporary rating. So I will have to be reevaluated in 18 months.

I am super happy! I am now trying to find out the pay stuff. Can anyone tell me if I should push for an exception to policy to be retired under TERA or just keep it as is? Anyone know how the pay will work out? I am married with 2 kids. Any help would be great!!!

YAY!!!!
Indeed, congratulations; this is outstanding news! :D

As such, please take care, continue to get well and enjoy your forthcoming placement onto the DoD military PDRL! :)

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

Thank you all!! I am so grateful for all the help from so many people on this forum.

Congrats!

Great news LuLu!!! Congrats!

Thank you!

LULU your signature is all messed up. I think you meant to type Jul 13th but wrote Jun instead. lol

Good Catch! That would have messed everyone up, LOL! Thank you ;-)

I got my orders today with a retirement date of 28 Aug 15!! Woohoo!! Mine is going super fast! I think it is record time to have orders in less than 3 days.

Wow, you got your orders fast. Mine took over 3 weeks!!! I take it you are reserve? Your Retirement date not being on the 1ST of the month and all.

Thanks! No, I am active duty AF.

What are your plans for retirement? The 1st of the month must be an army thing I guess.

I was thinking of doing something small, but I think that after serving 16 years I deserve to have the whole ceremony. So that is what I am going to do. I am actually excited to be getting it together. Its a short time to get everything together, but I have a great team helping me! You?

Then just school for me after I retire. Gotta finish my BA. :-)

I am a dual status Technician so I am retiring from both the Reserves and the Depart of the Army Civilian job. I have been a uniformed technician for 28 years. I have already been approved for VOC Rehab and am going to start Computer Network and Security Degree Program, as soon as my civilian retirement goes through.

Good luck to you as well!
