I have been in the Air Force going on 11 yrs.
Through the past 6 yrs I have been on a profile if not for one thing it's another.
I have had 1 wrist surgery on my primary writing hand, every once in a while i have pain that tends to leer its head around.
In the past two years I have been diagonised pre diabetes, and possible asthama along with that I have had two knee surgeries.
One for torn miniscus and the other for nerve damage, the one that I can not overcome....TONS of PAIN.
Just the other week I tried to complete my PT test, I was unable to complete due to extreme knee pain.
As I stated I have two surgeries 18 weeks of physical therapy all split up in 6 weeks session through out the 2 two years.
I went to the UCC the other day and the doc told me that I should be put me through a MEB or have a permanent profile of no running for fitness exam, permenent bike test and permenent physical therapy.
With all my past history what are my chance of getting MEB'ed.
I know my docs have been avoiding it cause of my possible asthama and diabetes. with the on set of me not being able to compliy with fitness regs cause of my knee what are my chance?
I would really dont care now if I get out, since I have already had 4 job offers making for than what i get now....i do still have 4 yrs left on my enlistment.
What are the things that they might throw at me (all opitions)?
I work PMEL so work is not hard, I just cant complete the run cause of major knee pain and in the new Air Force fitness program you must be able to complete the 1.5 mile run.
advice please.
What should i expect?
If they start an the MEB process which I am 99.9% sure that they will, what do i need to do?

1) If you had any surgeries or anything they will wait for them to heal before they offically start anything
2) You meet with your doctor a couple times to go over everything medically and he will write his finding and send them to your Peblo.. this takes usually 2 weeks to a month to get everything straightened out.
3) Your Peblo who is the POC on your MEB will meet with you talk to you about your MEB and go over what the Doctor put down and you agree with it or have it redone if anything is missing..
4) She sends it to the local board they meet once a week but sometimes skip a week... they will decided if you really need to have your package sent to the PEB.. with Asthma I would say for sure.
5) You meet with your Peblo again and she will go over what the local board had to say
6) The package gets sent to the IPEB I forget where its at but it will get stacked with all the other packages and they will go over if they should keep you or if they should seperate you and what %... this can take 2-6 months
7) Peblo gets the package back and you decided if you agree with what the IPEB puts down
8) If you agree and its seperation you pick I think its between 30-90 days on when you want to seperate... if you disagree you request a Formal PEB which you would go to Lackland and plead your case.

If you want to stay in I would recommend that you get letters for all the supervisors, shirts, and commanders stating why the Air Force needs you and since you have been in 11 years that your able to help the future Airmen of the Air Force and losing you would be costly to them.

I have two appointments in the next couple of weeks.
The question I have once the local board says that I am done, does anything change once it leave to HeadQtrs?

As far as staying in, I belive I am done.
I cant take it anymore...once it comes to medical....I have gone through to much pain to deal with any longer.

It could change... but I think with Asthma it wont be a problem getting out... also your commander will write a letter about you and your condition in the work place.. it might be a good idea to make it known to him or the shirt that you don't wish to stay in and request that they recommend you be medically seperated... I heard that can play a big part in the final outcome

Your command will be asked to write an impact statement about your disability. The key to this letter in cases where you want to be found unfit is that the letter address the impact of each of your conditions on your ability to perform your duties. What is usually lacking in these letters is specific mention of each condition. When you have more than one condition, it is impossible for the PEB to accurately assess your fitness for each condition if the command does not comment on each one. The guidance given for these letters is too general in my opinion, and what you often see is commands writing something like, "Due to Airman Jones' disabilities, he cannot do X, Y, or Z." Without naming the conditions, the symptoms and the specific duties impacted, the PEB will often assume that the most serious diagnosis is the reason for the limitations. As a result, you may not get the full rating you deserve. This letter, along with your MEB Narrative Summary, and your medical records are the main evidence that the IPEB will use to decide fitness and rate you. So, yes, this often does play a big part in your outcome (though, a bad letter can be overcome with additional evidence and testimony at the FPEB).

Does anyone know if they will find me fit ir unfit just from experenices or from what others are saying.
When it comes to the PT test I cant run, walk or do a bike test cause it hurts to darn much.

Should I start working on my resume?
I personally like the unfit factor.
