I've read through a lot of this forum pertaining to Navy IDES case timelines as that is what I am going through, was interested in seeing others experiences, and can't thank you all enough for sharing.

One thing I was wondering if anyone that reads this can answer is...

Where I am, there is exactly 1 (one) person working on NARSUMs, which surprised me because the facility I am at is the largest treatment facility in the Navy.

Is this normal at other facilities?

I am not looking to speed up my process, and am not in a rush to get out. I'm over 20, so every month I'm in just adds to my retirement.
 
I am also wondering if they forgot about me since I finished my C&P exams 5 months ago and haven't heard anything from anyone yet about my case moving forward.
 
They probably forgot about you. I would call everyone and explain to them that you've been waiting 5 months since the C&P
 
Also, while I understand you're at 20 years and aren't in a rush to get out. I suggest you make a concerted effort to try and get out of here as soon as possible. You don't to have your life on hold because of the Navy anymore than you have planned for. You have your whole life ahead of you when you get out.
 
I'd specifically ask your MSC if the VA has released your exams to your PEBLO yet. It sounds like you may have been forgotten at the same point that I was last year.

I know you probably don't know for sure, but do you think you were disenrolled then reenrolled to restart your timeline? I get the feeling that the Navy is working to get the numbers down, and restarting someone's clock in a situation like ours would help achieve that.

I agree. I was originally supposed to be out of the Navy in July 2023 (on a HYT waiver) but I just signed another 6 month extension to get to the end of this process, and now I'm guessing I'll still be in until this time next year.

I am having trouble wrapping my head around why I need to do a PRT when I haven't been eligible for advancement since 2020, won't transfer, and don't care what's on my eval.

I was planning to just let this ride for as long as it took, but this is getting kind of crazy.

Dont do the PRT. What difference does it make?

Get out of the habit of looking out for the Navy, they obviously are not looking out for you. Now that youre past retirement it is time for you to focus on YOU and only YOU.

Have you checked your claim on VA.gov or the VA app? It will either show nothing or it will show as closed. If it is closed, this may be a good time to reach out to the PEB for some answers. Strangely in this process I have had to do all the leg work to get this stuff done myself. My PEBLO has been less than helpful, although responsive.

I feel you. I'm actually doing my midterm eval with the CMC soon and plan on bringing this up. If there wasn't a spot for it on evals I probably would have checked out of the PRT system a while ago... just trying to keep my integrity intact in case I get questioned about stuff.

I haven't checked the website or the app, but can you tell me exactly which app it is? A lot of people mention it here, but I wasn't sure which one to get, a few popped up in the app store.

Also, I haven't checked the website because I haven't even signed my NARSUM yet.

Fun fact: I found out last week at an appointment with my PCM for a PRT waiver... He could see where I was put on LIMDU in 2020, but there is no mention in my record of me going to a medboard, or being put on regular LIMDU in August 2023 when I started IDES.

So much of this just isn't adding up.

I don't expect or want any special treatment, I just want to get this thing moving so I have a better idea of when I will be out.

100%, I actually said as much when it happened.

That being said, it was mutually beneficial. My case was strengthened in the process - a few extra months of suffering for potentially a lifetime of benefits isn't a bad deal.

I also use "suffering" extremely loosely - I'm getting paid every month and have free healthcare in the US.

It the app in the store that is a blue logo with big white VA letters. I didn't use the app much, I much preferred the website. You can logon with DSLogin (CAC) adn then just look at you claims and appeals. If there is nothing there, the VA either doesnt have anything at all or has not yet finished rating you. Usually its about 30 days from the day your DBQ's are uploaded. If it shows that you have a closed claim with a decision letter (you wont be able to download the letter) it means the VA has rated your case and now you are just waiting on the PEB in DC. If it is indee closed I strongly encourage you to reach out to the PEB @ 571-442-0592. You may have to call ten thousand times before someone picks up, additionally, it commonly just goes straight to voicemail. KEEP CALLLING EVERY DAY UNTIL YOU GET AN ANSWER.

So I checked out the website and unfortunately, as I expected, it reads "You have no claims or appeals to show".

I was kind of hoping that I forgot signing something and would see a status, but no luck... yet.

Also, get on the Tricare Online Portal and go to your medical record. In that section you should be able to see "Documents", your DBQ's SHOULD be there. You can usually take a look at them and then look up rating criteria and get a pretty good idea of what your individual ratings SHOULD be.

You should also give the VA a call and ask if there has been a claim submitted. If not, get with your PEBLO and MSC and figure out why nothing has been submitted, but only if all of your DBQ's and C&P exams are finished.

Pulling my DBQ's is great info that I found on this site earlier, possibly from your thread. Everyone should do this, and should be made aware of it when the enter the IDES process. I made sure to get them all, but after I read through them, I had more questions.

So here are a couple questions I have that I hope I can get answers to that will hopefully help me get this thing moving:

All of my DBQ's are in the system, except for my MH exam. The doctor that did my GEN MED exam referenced information from the MH exam in his write up, so do MH exam DBQ's show up with the other exams? If so, this is probably my hold up, but it made me wonder, where did he get the information from if it's not in the system?

Also, on the VES website all of my exams are listed as "Seen" on the dates I completed them, but below the ones that happened, there are now two more listed from the previous year that have no dates or status. It doesn't seem normal, and I'm not sure what to make of it, but I'll call VES and find out.

Definitely call VES, ive had a great experience with them but that doesnt seem to be the norm. Your mental health DBQ may have never been submitted so theyll need to track that down.
 
hello, I was in the same boat as you last year. Did you have any prior existing claims with another VSO like the DAV? If so they probably had to close that claim. Your MH DBQ should also be uploaded with the others. Which MTF are you being medboarded from? I’m at Portsmouth.

This is my first go-round, so no prior claims, good question though. I also thought the MH DBQ should be showing up, but figured since the doc doing the genmed exam talked about it I should be good. I'm at Walter Reed.
 
I haven't seen it on people's timeline trackers, but has anyone paid attention to when your messages come out?

Specifically, the message titles are:
"DTG (Command Name) NOTIFICATION OF MEB NAVY ICO (Members Name)"

and

"DTG (Command Name) PLACEMENT ON LIMDU ABEYANCE AWAITING MEDICAL BOARD (MEB) ICO (Members Name) USN"

The reason I ask, is because the Navy is tracking how long people are in the IDES process, and official message traffic seems like the best time to start an official counter that everyone should see at the same time.

Since my messages have never come out, and my PCM had no idea I was going to MEDBOARD, I'm pretty sure the 330 day average has yet to start in my case.
