Forgotten?

@Salty

The one thing I have learned from this process is everyone’s TIMELINE is so so so different!!! The timeline is a good ETA to kind of see how yours might move along but I gave up on it..

My general rule of thumb from my research and what my PEBLO gave me was that the first part of my IDES was the local MEDBOARD. Roughly 3 months!!! Definitely was not true. My MEDBOARD just was signed off today and will be sent off to the PEB.

It seems like you’re not really focusing on time since you’re over 20. Whatever helps you sleep at night, but I would definitely call someone. It seems like your case might be lost in the sauce..

You can always track it yourself on LIMDU SMART. But you need to be on a GOVT computer to see everything.. Once you’re logged in you can see everything from when you checked in, completed your legal brief and so forth.

I hope you get some answers. If you have any questions lemme know and I can answer off my experience through the first part of my MEDBOARD.

All the best

Brazzi,

I think you are 100% correct that timelines are different. From what I have seen here it can vary depending on number/type of conditions, where you are, how often you call or bug the people that are supposed to be helping you... There seem to be too many variables to accurately estimate when a person is going to get out.

I wasn't really focused on getting out soon because I thought it would have happened, or be much closer to happening by this point.

It also seems like I didn't just fall though the cracks, end up at the bottom of a pile, or get overlooked, I have been completely forgotten.

I took your advice and checked my status on limdusmart.com. I am less than pleased with what I found. 0 days consecutive LIMDU, no active case, nothing to indicate that I am going through the IDES or any medboard process.

In addition to that, I emailed my VA MSC and a few others last week and never got a response.

If it wasn't for the admin things like PRT's, urinalysis, and getting a new ID every 6 months, I'm pretty sure I could push this out for years, but that is not my wish.

I'm done, and I want to go home.

Unfortunately you are very early in the process to be forgotten as well. You need to contact the Peblo and get this sorted because the PEB process is also very lengthy.

Salty,

If you feel like you have been completely forgotten, you’re done and want to go home then maybe head up to the MEDBOARD office and don’t leave until you have gotten an answer.

I.E. I want to speak to my PEBLO, I want to speak to my MSC etc

Agreed. I am going to reach out today. My recover care coordinator told me that my PEBLO looked into my case and left a note a month ago, but from what I can tell, nothing has moved forward.

I'm almost there. My finger is on the "time to go nuclear" button, but I'm going to try and resolve this with less confrontational means first.

Salty,

I completely understand! I truly do, I felt this way about a month ago. I had sent my PEBLO an email asking for an update. Almost 3 weeks had passed and no response. Im sitting here thinking what in the actual ***** is going on. All I’m asking is for an update!!!! Common courtesy would be nice, just hit reply and say hey sorry but no news!! But if the shoe was on the other foot and your PEBLO needs you to sign something and you don’t respond, well you knew the rules and deadlines..

This whole process is overwhelming and just you feel lost cause the people that are assigned to your case that are supposed to be guiding you and giving you updates DONT!!!

Thank GOD! For this forum and the people on here!

I really hope you get an answer here soon!! I know it’s cliche to say but try and keep your head up and focus on the upsides then down! Easier said than done but I wouldn’t say it to you if I wasn’t going through this process myself. Hope that makes sense

Brazzi,

I just got done with a call getting some advice from my command.

I sent an email to the LIMDU coordinator, PEBLO, VA MSC, LIMDU department, CMC, Wounded Warrior Recovery Care Counselor and a few others. The idea being that now they can all see that the ball was collectively dropped. Hopefully this will get my case some traction.

I am also very grateful for this forum and the people on it. I've gotten more information here about ways to check my status, expected timelines, and many other things than I have gotten through all of the official channels.

I stared typing this as soon as I sent the email I mentioned, and already got a response from my PEBLO... unfortunately the VA still hasn't released my exams which has stalled the process.

Thank you for your encouragement, I am keeping my head up, and hope to bring more attention to this process so others not as fortunate as me have an easier time with it.

I just found out that my facility doesn't use LIMDU Smart, so for anyone reading this, make sure your facility uses it before citing it as a reference when you email everyone asking why there's nothing on it about your case.

Glad to hear that you got some kind of answer. I know it’s not the best answer but it’s something. I had to wait close to two months for my VA exams to be released back to my PEBLO. Once that happens, hopefully it will start moving quicker.

Happy to give any words of encouragement because at the end of the day that’s all we can go off! YES, this forum has been clutch for sure.

I have been using my experience to help guide others and let them know you’re not alone and we all are going through it.
