I called dfas Cleveland and my account was set up, but they told me that my severance pay ( I initially received at discharge) was taken out of the back pay.

I told them I paid it back to the VA already. They told me I needed to get a letter from the VA stating its been recouped, then gave me a fax number and a London, KY (Dfas) address to send the information to.

Is this normal? Dfas and the VA are both acting as if they don't have a clue about the PDBR, like it hasn't been around for the last 8 years lol.

I am in the exact same boat. And even after an audit the VA is saying I never paid them back my severance. So at this point I am getting an attorney. I remember a portion of my pay was withheld for 2 YEARS to repay the severance. No way I remember that so clearly and it never happened. VA is trying to keep the money.

Don't hold your breathe on the VA giving you what you need. Several people are having the exact same issue.

Does anyone know when the Army Discharge Review Board (DRB) be updated? I am waiting on my reply and it has not been updated since Fri Oct 14 07:58:53 2016

There is no update schedule they go by. It could be updated tomorrow or in May of next year:( but I am hoping they do it before the new year.

Thanks- from what I can tell they close a bunch of cases and uploaded them at one time. I see case numbers that are + or - 1 number off from mine so I should be getting close.
 
My letter was dated 17 November 2016,Accordingly your application has been transferred to the PDBR for adjudication,leading to a recommendation to the service Designated Decision Authority.What does this mean?

I received that same email about 7 months ago and just got one today saying that my case got sent to the army for their review and final decision but there still isn't a time frame on when I will find out. Every case is different hopefully this was some help.
 
It means that they have transferred your file to the PDBR for them to review and make a recommendation to your branch of service. They will then either accept or deny their recommendation and notify you. It is a long wait so just settle in and try not to think about it.

Does anyone have the contact information for Army? Case was adjudicated, but they did not give me a date of when it was transferred to army. Last I heard from them was in may.
 
I have been in process since May 2014. PDBR received my application Mar 2015 and had all records in hand in April of 2015. 7 years active service and I never had an assignment last as long as this process ,lol.Heck, I went from my permanent profile board to discharged in 90 days..... Maybe it is time we get some Congressional oversight. Unreal that the PDBR hasn't even started on it.
 
MrWrightNows, Cleveland VA and DFAS are in the same building. I am not sure how close you are, but you can get a VA letter showing that you paid them back. Having said that? they are supposed to be doing that automatically.
Additionally:
You are also eligible for retrograde Tricare...which can be important if you or you family has paid out expenses. For example, I had insurance, however my co-pays were in the tens of thousands. After about 10 months of searching, I figured out whom to contact to get the claims in, however YOU ONLY HAVE 1 YEAR TO MAKE A CLAIM.
Did anyone (or does anyone) have any issues with this, like I did?
If so, let me know.
 
I sent all my medical bills in with my PDBR packet, I don't remember how much it was but easily $20k.....

Guess I'll have to FOIA it then send to the right place, no biggie, I had all receipts and bills catalogued in excel spreadsheet so the hard part is done....all moot of course if I'm not upgraded
