Bliss Timeline

I’d hope that’s not the case. I know how the Army works with paperwork let alone the VA. My MSC said something about 35 day timeline which is this Friday. We shall see.

Keep us posted! You’re almost there!

Just a small update. Have my appointment with transition on November 14th to get my outprocessing packet. My CO already signed an early CIF turnin memo for me so the moment I get my 199, I’m outprocessing at the speed of sound haha.

You already got your ratings back?

Not yet. I’m hoping they come back this week or else I’ll be in trouble lol. I checked the status of my claim on va.gov and it said it was still in the “Evidence gathering, review, and decision”, but it had an update on November 5th and a development letter had been sent out. So I'm crossing my fingers I’ll hear something soon. What about you @corinnicus? Hear anything yet?

The suspense is killing me waiting to see my ratings! I also got my memo to clear CIF last week and made an appt. Their soonest available was Nov. 26th.

Congrats. Looks like you’ll be home by Christmas. Seems like you also waited around a month for your NARSUM which makes me feel better.

Well ask and you shall receive! Lol Hopefully I’m getting my rating soon too, but it does look like it took almost 3 weeks before your ratings came in so it’s looking likely I don’t get out of here before Xmas judging by the speed of everything. :(

My friend and I both got our unfit memo on Oct. 18th and he got his ratings back on Oct. 31st. So it seems that it really does just depend on the case. You may still be out of here before Xmas! Still 6 weeks to go!

I’ll keep the faith! I don’t think the PEBLOs and them want to have cases extend into next year after the holidays when they date so close to being done before then. I’ll just keep an eye out for my claim to change to va.gov.

Got my proposed ratings back. This is pretty much what I expected from the DoD side for my referred condition, and I got the rating that I had hoped for from the VA, along with a nice chunk of severance pay.

0% DoD
70% VA

Very happy with the outcome!

Congratulations. Did you sign for your 199 yet? I bet you’re ready to get out.

Thank you!

Not yet, I had to make an appt to go to legal to have them review my packet tomorrow. Then I'll try to do a walk-in to see my PEBLO to sign for the DA 199 afterwards. Super excited to get out of here!

As I was cursing the VA for taking so long with my NARSUM my PEBLO called me. She scheduled a call with a physician to go over my NARSUM then hopefully sign it this week. Things are moving once again. @corinnicus Congrats on the ratings.

Well that’s 2 for 2! Hopefully I’ll have some good news this week to share as well.

Went to legal, she was surprised to see my 0% rating from the DoD because it is very rare. My PEBLO said she has never seen a 0% rating in any of her cases. I confirmed with legal that I do not have to pay back my severance pay UNLESS I go to the VA later on and complain about my MEB referred condition and get the rating increased from 0%. So I won't ever be doing that. My PEBLO said I should be on TRANSPROC as early as this Friday, if not, early next week and then I'll have my No Later Than date.

Jeez that’s super fast! I contacted my PEBLO about my DA 5892 that I was supposed to have for my transition brief tomorrow, but she said I wouldn’t need it until my ratings came in, which they haven’t. This waiting sucks.

Yeah, I'm trying to keep this ball rolling! I wanted to sign them ASAP so after I went to legal, I went to IDES and did a walk-in so I could sign for my DA 199 today. My PEBLO said she's sending up my case today. You don't need your 5892 if you're just going to pick up your outprocessing packet from the lady at ACS. I didn't have mine when I went. She'll just give you a packet full of the documents that you'll need to turn into the Transition Office or Retirement Services (depending on your DoD %). Then once you have your 5892 and your NLT date, you can turn in your packet.

So how long did it take you to get your packet done? I scheduled my CIF turn-in today and they put me down for November 27th, the day before Thanksgiving. I’m just trying to get my ducks all lined up so when the ratings drop, it’s just turning in the packet and waiting for orders.

When you go to ACS tomorrow, the packet you are given will have everything you need, you'll just have to add the 5892, and there's a Medical Counseling memo in there that you'll have your CO or 1SG sign and you'll write your NLT date on that once you have it. Right now I'm waiting for my NLT date so that I can fill out the Medical Counseling memo and have it signed, then I can turn the packet into the Transition Office. Since you don't know your ratings yet, you'll be given 2 different checklists for completing your packet; one is for those receiving severance pay, and the other is for those being medically retired.

Ah, well Legal was telling me it’s a pretty good chance I’m getting severance pay so I’ll start working on that one tomorrow. Thanks for the help!
