I have been reading this site for some time and really have enjoyed what I have been reading. This is my timeline:

Notification of MEB Action - 6 Mar 2012
Physical Exam Completed: 29 Mar 2012
MEB sent to JBLM: 6 Apr 2012
NARSUM Completed: 20 Jun 2012
MEB Does'nt Meet Retention Standards: 27 Jun 2012
MEB sent to PEB (JBLM): 3 Jul 2012
eBenefits indicates "Preparing for Decision": 2 Aug 2012
eBenefits indicates "Pending Decision Approval": 3 Aug 2012

I called my PEBLO and he said that they are writing my Fit/Unfit memo right now.

Condition: Left Knee Severe Arthritis with Failed ACI (Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation)

Question: Has anyone had or know of this condition or a similar condition within the PEB?

Question: What excatly does "Pending Decision Approval" mean?

I have pretty much the exact same condition/situation, except mine is on my right knee.

What step/phase are you in with this whole process? Are you on Legacy or IDES?
 
Wow, seeing this going that fast for you means mine may go just as fast. In a way the faster the better so I can get on with things, but not knowing when I'm leaving is the killer.

Yeah I know right!!! It really kills me when my unit flags me for being 3% over weight, so when I try to push myself to knockout these pounds the knee I'm being MEBed for starts hurting and it slows my progress. The wait time to even find out if your fit or unfit is killing me. When I find out my unfit status (God willing), I'm done with this military and unit for LIFE!!! LOL!!!
 
Man thats quick. They submitted my package to MEB in June and I called VA and everything is moving slow so far. Its probably because I have 21 items including Crohns Disease, 2 knee surgeries, and Testicular Surgery. I am just ready to know what I am getting, then I would be ok with them taking their time to boot me. Good luck and God Bless.

No kidding. I've failed 2 pt tests in last 2 years and each time I was limited to what I could physically do for working out but was still required to do the walk test. I'm having crazy issues with my knee, not only swelling (which now I'm having edema all over), but intense pain and it's weird - the other day it was on the inside of my knee/up into thigh and down into calf area but it wasn't the muscles that hurt. So tired of trying to fit into a "barbie" mold and almost killing myself to do it, all the unhealthy "diets" etc. Just keep saying to myself, not much longer, not much longer. But I didn't take the chance to get out a few months ago when I had the option for early retirement - if I had - I'd be home already and moved.

I have a ton of things too. I'm still waiting on my PCM to finish the NARSUM - he hasn't finished it (was on leave 1 week, then an exercise the next). Now they want more paperwork from CC. I just want to know when I'm leaving so I can plan better, with being a single parent with 5 kids, it's a headache trying to plan for the next step
 
I know how you feel. I have Two Bachelors Degrees, and I am finishing up my Masters here soon. I have been in for 8 years, did multiple deployments to Afghanistan, and when I went to put in my Officer Package this year, the Navy said I was not eligible because of my Chrons and my other health issues. So I told them if i am not able to be an officer, then I dont want to be an E-5 Enlisted either, retire me. I have worked my ass off in the Navy and I missed alot of my girls when they were little, and damn near lost my marriage, for what, an ungrateful military. I worked two jobs for a year, so believe me, being on my feet was horrible, and the pain in the knees are bad at times, just try to manage it as best as possible. Can you tell me your C&P Exam ROM for you Knee and what they rated you. Where you found fit or unfit. Also what is your duty position/type?

You asking some specific questions. LOL! But that's alright. You made me look up my ROM cause I sure didn't known: left knee 0-110 degrees. I was found unfit on 27 July 2012. I am a 25U: Signal Support Systems Specialist. (Commo) Why all the questions? Just curious!
 
Good for you that they found you unfit, if that is what you wanted. What % did the military and VA rate you, and r u getting severance?

The unfit was exactly what I wanted. I have not gotten my 199 yet, so I don't know my ratings yet. I was thinking about calling the VA and asking if I could get a faxed copy of my proposed ratings.

I am Finance and need a right knee replacement. I did not want the PEB saying I am fit because I sit in a chair all day long as a finance Soldier. I was found medically unacceptable by the MEB, just waiting for the PEB.
 
I understand. That's my next step the knee replacement. But that won't come until some yrs down the line. My NCO had a partial shoulder replacement n the doc told him that he was supposed to be MEB'ed because of partial replacement because from what my NCO told me that he cannot continue service with artificial substance in his body. So I never know. A knee replacement is no joke n in my opinion I believe u will b found unfit.
