I have had a crazy time so far. Lost package, lost strips and the not knowing anything kills me!!

March 2012 MEB candidate status
Apr 2012 C&P requested
May 2012 Narsum completed
May 2012 MEB routed and found unfit at local MEB
4 Jun 2012 Narsum approved and forwarded to AFPC
15 Jul 2012 APFC reports never recieving package. FEDEX tracking confirmed delivery 6 Jun
16 Jul 2012 Package resent
18 Jul 2012 Confirmed delivery
30 Jul 2012 Found unfit at AFPC sending to VA for rating (didn't find out til 22 Aug that i was unfit)
10 Aug 2012 Told by PEBLO Package is going to be expedited due to me being past my DEROS

Now on a side note i'm Stationed at Misawa AB Japan. Cool hah? We since my DEROS past my records updated me to be at Luke, the base i was suppose to go to, Now all my 469 and 422 are being sent there. WTH i didn't even out process. last guy that had this happen he didn't straighten out his record for 8 months. Oh and he didn't get paid either lost his COLA, BAH, BAS and everything else. just got base pay. Hope this doesn't happen to me.
 
Your timeline is very much like mine. Did my C&P exams in Aprill, and my PEBLO received the 80 page exam results. Now, the VA sends me a letter and forwarded my package back to LA from DC. They scheduled me for 2 more appts on the 24th of August. Then I am awaiting my fit or unfit from the Navy, and my peblo tells me that package is back in Pensacola, cause they lost my surgery paperwork for the second time. This process is so frustrating. Some guys on here submit everything and good to go in a few months, I dont know a damn thing and the govenment keeps making mistakes, which is pushing back my time line to get out. Now i'm getting some BS from my PEBLO. telling me the VA has 120 days to answer my claim. thats 1-5 days longer then the IDES timeline. WTH!! I only have 1 MEB claim and about 7 VA claims...for now. I've had no luck with my MEB. Bad news everywhere. Oh and my PEBLO knows nothing about Rank determination.... since i lost a strip to PT test. I've had 5 EPR for my whole AF career. glad i'm a slacker!! LOL
 
Sorry to hear about your issues with the process. I finally am getting to a point where I try not to get so mad when the VA or PEB dropes the ball. I just want it all over with so I can focus on my future with my beautiful wife and daughters. Good luck to you and be safe.

I started the MEB process in April as well, they've dropped the ball twice so far and on August 21st I had to go back because they didn't document the first time correctly. Good luck to you and yours, its a long process but lets hope we get our packets soon

My updated timeline:
Mar 2012 Meb status
Apr-May C&P Exams
June Narsum approved and forwarded to Pensacola
Case sat for over 3 months on someones desk
Sep. 10 submitted IRIS Inquiry on VA.gov website
Mysteriously Sep 19 Status changed to Pending Decision Approval on Ebenefits
Finally Navy doc in Pcola sent MEB package back to PEBLO with changes. He removed one of my conditions that I had surgery for because their experts could not come to a decision. I told my PEBLO the hell with it and they are forwarding my MEB, to the PEB in DC with two conditions instead of three. At this point I accepted and said fine. Just tired of being dragged thru the mud. So my Package should be mailed to the PEB in DC by friday. Hopefully I should hear something in the next month or two I think. The first 10 steps move so slow, after that it seems to pick up but you have to be in everyones azz. I trully wish everyone on here the best. God Bless and be safe. Active Bud.

Mine changed to Prep for decision too on the 24th. I'm thinking it had something to do with the update they did over the weekend. I'm just curious as to what is going on with my case but I was told I'm not allowed to call the VA by my PEBLO. Hope you hear something back soon!!!

Not only can you call the VA, you should! This includes your MSC and the 1-800 number. Additionally, consider making IRIS inquiries. Remember, these people have jobs because of us.;)

Also consider giving a PoA to the DAV, American Legion, etc. They will give you information on VA progression that nobody else will.

What do the IRIS inquiries do?
 
Your question goes to a different section than your phone calls do. Better chance of possibly getting an answer that isn't as scripted as the phone calls.

3 Oct 12 Got my IPEB findings 10% DOD/ 40% VA

I have some issues with the paperwork so i have to do some digging. They marked me as 14 years but Dec is my 15 year mark and they are marking me as a SSgt which per 10 USC Sec 1212. My PEBLO doesn't know any info since she's new. anyone have inputs?
 
I'm praying I get mine back tomorrow. My ratings have been with AFPC for 2 weeks now. Tomorrow is my bday and that would the best present ever!!!! Downside is my supervision told me that regardless if I'm suppose to be outprocessing during our ORI, I will have to place it on hold to participate. Needless to say, I'm not happy with my squadron. I swear it's like no one comprehends that I am being MEB'ed for a reason. I can't physically keep up with half this stuff anymore. Congrats to you on getting your ratings!!! Let me know how long it takes to get your orders please.

I think this is incorrect. I'm pretty certain that MEB actions (to include outprocessing, etc.) take the cake over everything else (baring punitive issues). Especially considering the mandated "clocks" that each phase of this process are required to follow (including the time for outporcessing). I would talk to legal and your PEBLO about this situation. We are working an ORI as well, and I have completley turned my programs over to my replacement and have no part in any of it.

Thank you sir. I will talk to my PEBLO. I talked to my First Sgt about it last week and he told me it was up to my supervisor. I figured he would help. I also don't have a replacement yet. I was told in July when I signed m paperwork to be sent to AFPC that I would have a replacement. Here it is October and still nothing. I've requested one several times but now its on my supervision not me.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too!!!! I'm hoping I have good news when we return to work on Tuesday. Hopefully you hear something too!!!!
 
I understand. I had a good idea that the train was coming down the tracks for me, so I went out and found my replacement and recommended him to my boss. For my current job, the person replacing me had to be appointed, so I completed all the paperwork to accomplish that and did all the leg work to make it happen. Had I not done that, the AF would've waited until a couple days before my final out to find somebody and I would be stuck training a person for two days on programs/projects that should take 2-4 months to learn.

Wow. I'm glad that it worked out for you. Makes it a lot less stressful. I know at this point since I have tried everything to get a replacement that I shouldn't worry about what happens once I'm on my way out the door. But I care too much and I've worked way too hard to get my programs where they are. In a meeting with my Commander a couple weeks ago, I told him that I could be getting the news any day. He was not happy that I wasn't replaced yet. The last person who was separated by MEB was replaced 4 months before she left. As soon as she was sent to her C&P exams they got her replacement.
I just am praying that I get that phone call at work tomorrow!!! (it's Monday night here)
 
I know exactly where you're coming from. I work at hdqtrs and report directly to the WG/CC, and it would be unfair for me to put somebody in there last minute in front of the boss with no clue/training (throw him/her to the wolves). But, like you said, we can only do what we can do, and if they back burner your request to get a replacement....they will have to accept the damage/demise it can cause to your programs. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it...you did everything you could to make the programs run efficiently, and now need to concentrate on you. I'm in the same boat. Good luck, I'm sure things will work out well for you...keep the forum posted. I'm hoping to get some more news on Tuesday as well.
