    MEB and leave

The info Kim posted above is correct BUT depending on the PEBLO and leadership you may still be able to take leave if your appointments will not be impacted by your leave. I took leave from Japan back to the states while waiting for a response from the board.

Can you promote while undergoing MEB in Air Force?

If your board is not complete then you still promote unless things have changed in the past year - see the references below for full details - I used them to put my asshole of a supervisor in his place and proudly retired with the stripe I earned. Best of luck to you! AFI 36-2502, (Airman...

PEBLO is not performing their duty

Find the patient advocate in the med group. It's normally an extra duty for someone in each section with one or more hospital-wide patient advocates. I ran into problems with my mental health counsellor threatening me as well as PEBLO problems and went to the head patient advocate over my...

    Absent commander...

As others have said, write up what you believe to be a proper letter and then either route it up through the chain of Command or "Open door policy" that thing :)

Need to take leave per civilian doctor's letters, but CC says NO

if I were you I would find a copy of AFI 36-3003 and start searching/reading every paragraph or section for the word "convalescent" - that will tell you what and when you commander can/cannot approve convalescent leave. Keep in mind, when it says "may" that means he can also say NO...

Need to take leave per civilian doctor's letters, but CC says NO

Sadly - as I understand the process, even if it was coming from an "Real" Air Force doctor the Commander has the right to approve or deny the leave.

    DDD & Mental issues timeline

Decided it was time for me to pester my PEBLO again today and resulted in some news! Looks like the IPEB has found me unfit as my package is at the VA for ratings. The Providence VA has had my package since the 3rd of May. Knowing now that I'm on the way out it's time to ramp up my plans for...

    Received NARSUM....conflicted on election

    1. Yes 2. Hell Yes. 3. Did I mention YES? This is basically your main chance to provide input and wave the BS flag. Do it. Start writing your rebuttal now assuming they rubber stamp everything. If you want an extra pair of eyes on your rebuttal then let me know - would be willing to help out...

    DDD & Mental issues timeline

Yes I have - I've throttled back on posting my info here for a bit - sorry for the delay folks. Long story short the MEB package is on it's way to the IPEB today. I did an IMR and a rebuttal letter. Hopefully I get a good rating from the IPEB!

    Need URGENT help ASAP!!

Have you or your husband spoken to the patient advocate at your medical facility? If not I suggest going that route - I recently ran a couple of my concerns by him and got at least partial resolution to my issues + had a meeting with the SGH where I was able to address a few more of my issues in...

    IMR *BEFORE* MEB?

I went it to talk to my PEBLO about my NARSUM prior to it being submitted to the local MEB and was told that if I wanted to request an IMR I had to do it at that point. Turns out that's incorrect... I thought something was off but I wasn't able to find the relevant portion of the regs until over...

Yep, it is a VERY good thing I found this site. I can see where having a civillian PEBLO could be very beneficial.

Anxiety Disorder part III - The NARSUM, Commanders Letter and the Threats. Help!

Nope - PEBLO is military. He is new to the job. Sadly there is not. Right now I'm documenting all the DODI and AFI references that I can find that state that the issues should be covered by a MEB, talked to the Patient Advocate and he's trying to get something setup with the SGH for today. Not...

Anxiety Disorder part III - The NARSUM, Commanders Letter and the Threats. Help!

Update time. Alright, first the good news. Had an appt with my PCM and talked to him about the changes. He is going to add some things to the job impact section based on my inability to currently work in my career field and the fact I've been assigned to an admin job outside my shop...
