Ah! I thought DOD did their own rating and thats why people would end up with like 10% DOD and 60 VA or something. From what I understand the VA rates all conditions and the DOD just does the unfitting ones correct?

So when opening an ebenefits account during the IDES process is there anything you have to do or upload before it will update while you are waiting for ratings? I realize people say it is unreliable and not to bother but I am just curious.

I get that it is a command decision and my unit doesn't make soldiers who have had their separation physicals do pt. But VA claims basically being your separation physical, and not being able to add to your claim during the IDES process makes me think its wise to not really do too much.

Are we expected to do the portions of the APFT we can according to our profile if we are going through the IDES process? Is it up to the commander? Just curious as I've heard things about not doing PT after your physicals.
