    Air Force Timeline (Bipolar 1)

I’m coming up on my 18 month eval but from what I’ve seen it doesn’t seem extremely prevalent, and I mean bipolar is permanent and proven to worsen over time so it’s kind of hard to justify a reduction. Just continue to seek treatment and have everything well documented after retirement. Also...

    PEB Tracking

It’s been over a year so you’ll have to look at my timeline. From what I remember a claim was opened (on ebenefits at the time) and the conditions were added shortly after my MSC submitted the paperwork. No other viewable details on my end. In my case that site was useless except when it flipped...

    Major Star Act CRDP

Oh ok wow, that’d be amazing, thanks.

    Major Star Act CRDP

So if I was medically retired (before 20 years) for mental health, but draw CRSC for tinnitus and rhinitis, are you saying I would receive my full retired pay (for my 14 years) and my VA pay? Sorry, trying to read this bill makes my brain hurt.

    Comical C&P exams?

I didn’t think my 1.5 hour C&P exam did a good job of reflecting my medical history either although my examiner was generally ok. Afterward I literally printed and highlighted every medical record related to every condition I claimed, especially symptoms that were relevant to the VA CFR and...

    CRSC claim for Simulated War

When I sent mine in I wrote out why it should be approved and highlighted the specific CRSC guidance and evidence in my medical records, MEB package, and VA award letter. Was approved no problem and given an extra 10% for tinnitus which I didn’t even apply for (I assume maybe because I worked on...

O3E with 24 years of service force medical retirement

Air Force here, 12 years enlisted, 2 years officer. Medically retired as O-1E, high-3 remained unchanged and all paperwork/orders/retired ID etc. reflects as LT/O-1E, was never an issue. Don’t know why it would be any different for the Army.

I suspect Bipolar 2 for myself, can I ask my MH provider?

No there isn’t anything wrong with asking your provider and describing your symptoms or getting screened, on average it takes 6-10 years to be properly diagnosed bipolar. For me I initially presented to my mental health clinic with severe depression. Even though my father and grandfather were...

TDRL Review Case - Email Notification

Interesting, didn’t know they did this, but please be sure to post what happens. Hopefully they just switch you to PDRL. I’m also Air Force and was placed on TDRL 1 month after you and was also awarded P&T after separating, haven’t heard anything yet though.

I assumed I wasn't eligible for CRSC, but now I think I may be due to the PACT Act

I think that may just apply to Persian Gulf War/Desert Storm vets, falling under the umbrella of “Gulf War syndrome” unless of course it can be tied elsewhere. Not sure if the PACT Act changed that though, the language is often pretty confusing.

I assumed I wasn't eligible for CRSC, but now I think I may be due to the PACT Act

You can apply online via mypers. Just submit the required documents, justification, and supporting evidence. I applied for rhinitis at 10% since it’s a presumptive and I was deployed to Afghanistan. Had decision in 30 days. I was given 20% as they included tinnitus for some reason (didn’t even...

    MVC Timeline

Hang in there, delays and mistakes aren’t that uncommon for most of us, especially over the holidays and now with the VA due to PACT Act claims. I had to wait 2 months for a single QTC eye exam, had to redo my CIS since my original expired, and spent almost a year away from my wife and 2 kids...

    Bipolar II Pilot IDES Timeline

I believe you’re thinking of the 20 year rule for 100% P&T. That just means after 20 years of holding a P&T rating the VA can’t reduce your rating ever, except in cases of fraud basically. Just make sure you continue to seek treatment and don’t file any more claims and you’ll be fine.

    Bipolar II Pilot IDES Timeline

Basically means all your conditions are deemed static and there will be no routine future examinations. Yeah, some benefits will vary by state but there are some pretty good federal benefits too.

I am waiting on my ratings but just received a new diagnosis... is it too late?

Didn’t mean to assume you’re Air Force, so sorry if you aren’t. Either way, as long as your mental health diagnosis's are both unfitting (versus unsuiting like personality disorders etc.) you should be fine and there are processes in place both before and after discharge/retirement to get the...
