wow that fast makes you think why they had you waiting so long

hmm...i think i'll go check mine, because if it updated like that...I don't wanna get my hopes up, but hey...who knows lol

Yeah, thats kinda demoralizing, my ebenefits when from Prep for decision, back to...gathering of evidence! i'm not in full on panic..yet. Because a few posts earlier, tony's went from way back to damn near done...so I'll WAIT SOME MORE...which is what we all have to do in the end anyway...But cmon man, seriously.....wtf?

ok it updated at the bottom...it says it needs my separation documents...as in my DD214.....but I'm not out yet....this makes no sense to me. Can anybody shed some light on this for me. i'm not to smart in this area. If it doesn't have a steering wheel, a trigger, or i can't eat it....i dont know how to work it lol. Does this mean I'm done? (one can only hope)

Same here I just got off the phone and they said I need a DD214 I was trying to tell the lady that I needed to get my proposed rating first now I'm confused I thought the PEB would let me know my ratings then she said I would get in the mail in about 10 days huh? Lol she totally confused me

From what I have seen on here that means you should be getting your proposed ratings here shortly and the needing the DD214 is so they can give you your final ratings once your out. Dont quote me on that though. Im sure someone that has hit that point will chime in shortly. At least you can see that in your ebenefits. I talked to my DAV rep the other week and he says they have an internal note from April 2nd stating they need my 214 to give proposed ratings. Hopefully you guys will here something in the next week or so.

Proposed rating probably are done and sent back to PEB, remember these are proposed not FINAL, once you get your DD 214 you have to give it to you MSC so they can send it the VA so when you become a veteran the VA can finalize your rating

Wow....just went to post to sort it all out and get some answers...aaaaaaaaaaaand......heres what i got, went to the MSC to get some translation on my recent change, heres what they said..."Don't rely on eBenefits so much, that page is for actual veterans, if you want to know about your ratings, go talk to your peblo." After some talking and arguing, i realized that i wasn't going to get any answers from him or the 4 other reps in there that were basically laughing in my face because i couldn't come up with the proper answers at the time. So....being that Reynolds (our hospital here at lovely ft sill) put its MEB office at the 3rd floor and took 1/2 the VA with it, i went there to hopefully talk to the peblo and VA reps...again. I get there and my peblo, who avoids me like the plauge, gives me the worst look ever, i just want some answers. so she forwards me to the VA office and they then told me to come back next tuesday or thursday..for walk-ins........does it ever stop!? Why is it such a f*ckin secret?

You are welcome, brother! ;)

Congratulations! I am pleased to see that you received the DA Form 199. :)

To that extent, I am even more pleased that you elected to receive a second option of the IPEB findings! :D

Good job and best wishes!

That is a bit ridiculous how they treat you. I mean I have felt that I've gotten the run-around a lot, but nobody has ever been rude to me like you described. It is their JOB to meet with you whenever you need to discuss something. Half the time they are sitting around doing nothing anyhow, so I see no reason why you can't wait on them as a walk-in any day of the week. You sure can here at Fort Belvoir. I've never waited more than 10 minutes to speak with anyone at the PEBLO or VA office, and if the wait is going to be longer I ask to speak to the OIC instead of the MSC rep or my PEBLO. In the PEBLO office they should also have a military person to go along with the civilian OIC.

Just curious, how come you waited 10 days to sign the 199?

You have 10 days to sign the 199. I assumed he went over it with legal and throughly checked every piece of documentation. He had 50 claims.

Good question...

Upon receipt of the IPEB findings on a Friday afternoon, 3 days were immediately lost to obtain SMEBC review, and leaving me with only 5 business days to yield a soldier's election. Otherwise, the PEB "may proceed as if I have concurred with the findings and recommendations."

In the interim while awaiting SMEBC review, comments and recommendations, I started to prepare my own in-depth written appeal. Upon completion of the IPEB written appeal, the written documentation was a 6 page memorandum with 66 pages of enclosures. To that extent, the SMEBC was bombarded (not unusual) with assisting other soldiers and was not able to respond until 1 day after the IPEB 10-day mandatory election period.

Bottom line is to always have a contingency plan. Without SMEBC review, my soldier's election was "I do not concur and demand a formal hearing...my written appeal is attached...I request personal appearance...I request regularly appointed counsel...I request VA reconsider my disability ratings."

Upon SMEBC review the next business day, the lawyer stated that I prepared a very good written appeal and my opportunities for success is better than average. A point of note is that as a worst-case course of action, my soldier's election would have been the same as previously mentioned except for "my written appeal is not attached." By selecting this option, it would not allow the IPEB to reconsider its findings and recommendations prior to the formal hearing.

Moreover, my intention was to allow the IPEB an opportunity to reconsider its findings and recommendations hoping to receive a favorable determination. With the potential IPEB reconsider favorable determination, the plausible need for the formal PEB hearing become an unnecessary action; therefore, (hopefully) giving me a (new) option to concur and waive the formal hearing.

Unfortunately, the IPEB stated "this board finds no basis for a change in its action in your case. As such, the board reaffirmed the findings of the informal board and consistent with your earlier election, you have been scheduled for a formal hearing...Your request for VA reconsideration will be acted on at the conclusion of a formal board."

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

I see. So you were basically not agreeing with the DOD 60% rating? I guess our cases are different in that I just want to reach 30% DOD and as high as possible VA as I won't be getting both as it was not combat related. I'm assuming that is why you are disputing yours.

That's very perceptive of you...;)

Yes, I am disputing the IPEB findings of a "non-combat related condition" determination for my lower back PEB referred unfitting condition while requesting a one-time DoVA reconsideration for all PEB referred unfitting conditions.

BTW, I do not quite understand your statement "...as I won't be getting both as it was not combat related."

If you will, what was your intent of the statement "...as I won't be getting both as it was not combat related"?

Best Wishes!

My PEBLO told me I need to apply for CRSC, does anyone have any info on this?
