Combat-Related Special Compensation (CRSC) and Concurrent Retirement Disability Pay (CRDP)

Combat-Related Special Compensation (CRSC) and Concurrent Retirement Disability Pay (CRDP) are programs created by Congress to allow eligible military retirees to receive monthly entitlements in addition to retired pay.

CRSC is a special compensation for combat-related disabilities. It is non-taxable, and retirees must apply to their Branch of Service to receive it.

CRDP is a restoration of retired pay for retirees with service-connected disabilities, and it is taxable. No application is required. Eligible retirees receive CRDP automatically.

The purpose of these entitlements is to recover some or all of the retired pay that military retirees waive for VA disability compensation.

Excellent info, thanks

ok, my Ebenefits just went from prep for decision to gathering of evidence....but it now tells me it needs my DD214....but being that i'm still Active, that doesn't make sense. I've heard that might be good.....but possibly not. Why would it go back....?

Your ratings are done, look out for your 199 in a couple weeks maybe sooner, it's telling you they need your dd 214 because they need it to finalize your ratings after you become a veteran

Hi guys just quick question my ebenefit showing gathering of evidence and says requesting separation documents. starting 4/27/13 and the due date is 5/27/13. What is this mean?

Does anyone have any recent experience (past 2-4 weeks) with their claim changing to "pending decision approval?" It's been about 10 days since mine changed from preperation for decision. How long did it take you to be completed (get ratings) after the change? Thanks!

My ebennies is now requesting my DD214 and from what I understand that means my ratings are complete. I hope my PEBLO calls me this week. Just seeing that request I felt like some weight was lifted off my shoulders. I know its not over and it could be a few months longer, just the fact that I see some progress relieves some of my anxiety.

You're a gentleman, and a scholar kind sir....THE DAY IS MINE!!!! thats a badass way to start your monday right there...cept for when i get to BN formation and have to listen to smage ramble and ramble and ramble and ramble....then PMCS...standard data....But thanks. Been waiting to lift that bag of bricks for awhile

Just got this on eBenefits this morning: "Your claim is complete. A letter will be sent to you via U.S. mail formally documenting the completion of your claim. Please allow standard delivery time prior to contacting the VA call center."

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!

Now how long until my PEBLO actually has the ratings? Will he be the first to have them, or do you think the VA office here will be able to see them also?

I would be causing a bigger stink if I were you--that's really 156 days (as it counts from the day of the unfit memo)

Honestly making a big stink doesn't really seem to help. I contacted the DAV and two congressmen...they all said the same thing...WAIT. I'm finally seeing some movement after 150+ days.

My unfit letter went up on 12 March 2013 and
My VA ebennies changed to this today:
Estimated claim completion date and status
05/27/2013 to 07/07/2013 Preparation for Decision

I got a call from my MSC today and told me my ratings were complete and had been sent to the PEB. Ebenefits confirms with closed claim and requesting separation documents. I’ve been waiting for that call for a long time. I guess I should see the 199 in the near future.

A side note, I can’t say it will work for everyone, but when I did the Congressional that was the first time I saw movement in almost four months. As soon as the “Special Correspondence” popped up, 3-4 days later it changed to “Pending Decision Approval” and “Complete” a week after that.

Glad to hear it.

I haven't gotten feedback yet, but ensure to check your VA summary provided when you get your 199. Not sure if there's a reason, but for me only a years and half worth of my medical records was provided as evidence to the VA. Look at the dates closely from and to!
