I just recently found myself experiencing more knee pain than usual. I did some research online about what I think it is just based off of the quality and location of the pain and I believe it’s Osgood Schlatter Disease. Apparently I had it as a child and it has just never gone away like it’s supposed to. I don’t have a large lump on my knee but it is sensitive to the touch. I do notice a slightly larger bump on my left knee than my right, however. When I try and run it’s just painful and more of a limp which then causes over correction on one side of my body also causing lower back pain and sometimes pain in my legs when trying to sleep. When I walk, sometimes it’s fine and sometimes I have a limp from it. Stairs hurt, standing up hurts, sitting slowly hurts, squats, getting in and out of my car. I just can’t put too much weight on it.
I have already tried NSAIDs, rest, PT, and nothing has worked yet.
I was referred to the ortho at my last base for focal grade 3 chondromalacia and he just said get over it. So I just kind of shut up because I didn’t know what else to do but now it’s worse than it’s ever been and I think I have actually pinpointed it so I’m just curious if anyone knows what to expect.
Has anyone here experienced this or something similar? If so, what happened with you?
