Will be medically separated - how will I pay for my medical care when I am out?

I was referred by my doctor to a Med Board/PEB a few weeks ago. A few questions:

1. If I am medically separated (not retired), is it true that I will get 6 months of Tricare for free, called TAMP? I just want to make sure this isn't a rumor. Will this be Tricare Prime or Tricare Select?

2. If I am found 100% disabled (VA portion, not the DOD portion), will I be eligible for CHAMPVA? I do not have any dependents, nor do I plan to by the time I leave the military, and when I look on VA websites regarding CHAMPVA, it only talks about dependents and not the actual service member.

3. If I am medically separated with less than 20% DOD and less than 100% VA, is it possible to receive TDIU straight out of the military?

If you received an Honorable Discharge, Medical Discharge, or General Discharge Under Honorable Conditions, you are eligible for both VA disability compensation and VA health care. Many separated veterans use the VA Health Care system for all their medical needs. My younger brother is one of them and he is very satisfied with the care he receives.
He firmly believes the VA saved his life through the surgery for colon cancer two years ago.

Leaving active duty is a TRICARE Qualifying Life Event (QLE). During this time, you have 90 days from your separation date to change to another health plan if you're eligible. ... These options are the Transitional Assistance Management Program (TAMP) and Continued Health Care Benefit Program (CHCBP).

Transitional Assistance Management Program

The TRICARE Plans Overview states that TAMP provides 180 days of premium-free health care for certain service members and their families. If you’re eligible, TAMP will begin the day after the sponsor separates from active duty. Your branch of service determines your TAMP eligibility, not the TRICARE regional contractor. With TAMP, you and your family can use TRICARE health plans. You also can get care at military hospitals and clinics.

CHAMPVA Eligibility​

To be eligible for CHAMPVA, you cannot be eligible for TRICARE, and you must be in one of these categories:

  1. The spouse or child of a Veteran who has been rated permanently and totally disabled for a service-connected disability by a VA regional office.
  2. The surviving spouse or child of a Veteran who died from a VA-rated service-connected disability.
  3. The surviving spouse or child of a Veteran who was at the time death rated permanently and totally disabled from a service-connected disability.
  4. The surviving spouse or child of a military member who died in the line of duty, not due to misconduct (in most of these cases, these family members are eligible for TRICARE, not CHAMPVA).
An eligible CHAMPVA sponsor may be entitled to receive medical care through the VA health care system based on their own Veteran status.
