Good morning everyone. My Case is currently at the PEB board awaiting an UNFIT memo...cant see it coming back fit. My Unfitting condition is Lumbosacral DDD with L Radiculopathy. I have a question about my ROM Results on my C&P. On the C&P there are 3 sections that have ratings for my back...

INITIAL ROM MEASUREMETS:

Forward Flexion (0-90): 0 to 50 degrees
Left Lateral Flexion (0-30): 0 to 25 degrees
Extension (0-30): 0 to 25 degrees
Right Lateral Rotation (0-30): 0 to 25 degrees
Right Lateral Flexion (0-30): 0 to 25 degrees
Left Lateral Rotation (0-30): 0 to 25 degrees

OBSERVED REPETITIVE USE:

Forward Flexion (0-90): 0 to 40 degrees
Left Lateral Flexion (0-30): 0 to 20 degrees
Extension (0-30): 0 to 20 degrees
Right Lateral Rotation (0-30): 0 to 20 degrees
Right Lateral Flexion (0-30): 0 to 20 degrees
Left Lateral Rotation (0-30): 0 to 20 degrees

FLARE UPS:

Forward Flexion (0-90): 0 to 30 degrees
Left Lateral Flexion (0-30): 0 to 10 degrees
Extension (0-30): 0 to 10 degrees
Right Lateral Rotation (0-30): 0 to 10 degrees
Right Lateral Flexion (0-30): 0 to 10 degrees
Left Lateral Rotation (0-30): 0 to 10 degrees

Like everyone else I am attempting to understand the results and how they relate to the VA Rating System. I just don't know which rating they will use.....Im assuming that it could possibly be the Observed Repetitive use results, that would make the most sense to me because the initial results are just that initial, and the flare ups don't happen all the time....any input would be greatly appreciated.

Anybody find out about this?

"When pain results in additional functional loss during flare-ups or upon repeated use over a period of time, evaluate the joint based on the resulting LOM."

I recently completed my C&P exams and had my ROM measured. I am not sure how it will be rated by the DoD, but I am unable to lean forward/bend more than 2 inches from a vertical position. Leaning backwards is even less. I hope the DoD rating and VA rating will be fair. Looking forward to reading my results in the format posted above. Not sure what to expect.
