Im posting this up here in hopes of getting some insight from those who are knowledgeable from experience. The VA finalized my rating a couple days ago. I saw on Ebenefits that the claim was closed 2 days ago and that a letter was sent out to me to show what my finalized ratings are. I tried calling today in hopes of finding out quicker, but they said they couldn't speak about it over the phone until I received my letter. So now I'm waiting on this letter. Anyways, since the claim was initially filed over a year ago I now have plenty of new evidence to add to my existing claims and I need to add additional conditions now. Im wondering what is the smartest and quickest route to go? Should I file for an appeal, reconsideration or go for Individual Unemployability Benefit? I think an appeal would be the slowest of the three, but I really do not know. My preliminary ratings were 70% VA and 50% DOD. Does anyone know if they do any additional medical records collecting to adjust and finalize your ratings or is it pretty standard that your finalized ratings are pretty much whatever your preliminary ratings were? My goal is of course is to get to the 100% mark as I think its warranted. I'd like to hear from those who have accurate and relevant information on this subject. Much appreciated.
