What is Chron's rated at on VASRAD if you have chronic inflamation and need surgery?

Had a question and was hoping someone had some insight.
Have Chron's and awating findings.
Started out with Doc's dictation stating i was responding to meds and in remission.
now after package mailed out had a few flares and need surgery.
What is Chron's labeled as in the VASRAD especially now that i am Anemic, and malnurished.
Any help would be greatful.
Thank you!! :)

I had the same question. I was admitted to the VA hospital for a week with Crohn's. From my understanding the code will be under ulcerative colitis or IBS.

Ok, sorry to hear about your diagnosis as well. I was seen in the ER back in July of 2011 and was in the hospital for about 7 days. Colonoscopy procedure done and the results were positive with chron's. Started my 1st LIMDU and than tol doc after 1st limdu was up just to start the PEB because he said there was no way i could be retained in the Navy.
Doc started me on Budeonide and Immuran. So when it came time for the Doc's dictation for the med board his statement was that i was currently in remission, and responding well to meds with cramping and pain.
Well shortly after the package was mailed out I had another bad flare and ended up in the ER. No obstruction from x-ray and ct scan which was good. Follow up with the doc and had an MRI done.
Results of the MRI show the last 17 cm'' of the illium (Small Intestine) with chronic inflamation and scaring that has created a stricture. Now being referred to surgery to have that part removed but my EAOS is in SEP2012. So if i take the surgery I will go back to LIMDU and dont have enough time to start a med board again.

So I am awating my findings and probably going to ake it to an APEAL FORMAL BOARD. Now I am definately not in remission and am anemic and have low vitimin b. So i am going to fight to get a better %age. I was told by my case manager that my proposed rating is 10%DOD, 30%VA. So that is why i am tring to figure out what VASRAD rates Chrons as.

Thanks for that info, and good luck to you:)
