Hello,

I got my results today that said discharge with severance pay.I have anxiety disorder in category I and Personality disorder(paranoid and avoidant traits) category III.They rated me 10% disability. I spoke with a VA administer today that says by regulation I'm definitely 30% to 50% qualified.My compensatible rate is also 10%. Do I have to go through a FPEB or can the liaison officer fix my info? I don't want to draw this process out any longer I really hate being in limbo.Now if I do go to FPEB will that push my 90 day separation date back or will it stay the same? As of now I will get out in July which will give me time to prepare for school in hopes of focusing my thoughts and energy into something positive.July will be my three year mark.

Thanks,
:confused::confused::confused:

vinniedr,

Welcome! I would not think that your PEBLO can do anything about this. You can try, but my sense is that you will have to demand a formal PEB. One other thought, if you have enough evidence demonstrating your meeting the criteria for the higher rating, you may be able to get a reconsideration of the IPEB results. This is generally easier done in the Depts. of the Navy and the Army. The Air Force does not do this that often in my experience.

Best of luck!

Something else to consider is that this is the rest of your life. Being in limbo for an extra month far outways the benefits of severance. It sounds like your giving up a chance at retirement for 30 days that the formal would probably take. Also the 90 days is the max. It also includes 20 days outprocessing and 20 days permissive. If you have a commander that usually gives the max permissive you could still be out when you want even going to the formal. The process is long and drawn out and can drain you mentally but if you give up the fight for what is owed to you, you let them win. Be strong and fight for what is yours.

Jason,

So I wonder why the VA administrator told me that. I was told to take the print out with the Disability percentages and symptoms to my doctor and have them state which criteria they believe I fall into. Would I take these notes to the PEBLO and or the FPEB. I was trying to ask do I have to go through a FPEB to get a reconsideration? Can they just send an email or how does it work?

Texan1003,

Are you saying the date will not change? I was told by the PEBLO I had 90 days but is that 90 days from yesterday or when I make my decision? I'm not thinking of not fighting I was just trying to see if I had to go through FPEB or not. So you are saying that if my FPEB date comes up I could be out of the military and without any benefits or pay an I would have to go to Texas? If this happens I would have to stay here or could I move back to my home state? If this happens do I have to stay here or can I move back to my home state? I think this would be a little too much for me.
