Wait Time For Providence, RI

E-Benefits move to pending decision approval, now just waiting to see if/when my peblo can see my ratings! I cant wait for this all to be done. I hope I get the magical 30% DOD so I dont have to fight them now, if I can just retire I will take the fight to the VA later.

Michael can you please post the information you get from your PEBLO about how long the average is now for ratings to be sent from AFPC. My PEBLO said it should be a little quicker now seeing as though they shouldn't be as busy due to the Providence backlog. Thanks!

Absolutely! Depending on your peblo, they can see your ratings, technically they are not supposed to give them to you until the IPEB is done though. As soon as my peblo can see them I will let you know, as well as how long the IPEB is taking.

OMG I got the magic phone call!!! lol. But seriously, I go to sign papers in an hour! I am very happy that this process is coming to a close. I don't know how much more suspense I could have taken. Crossing fingers for a smooth transition back to civ life.

Almost forgot.....for timeline purposes: (If you are a timeline hunter like I was)

PEB found unfit and send to VA - 12/12/13

Heyyyyy, awesome Meg!!! Good luck!!!

Ok so I signed!! I got 40 DOD and 50 VA which was slightly higher than I thought. It's TDRL which I'm actually happy about because there is a good possibility that my condition may worsen and I would like the opportunity for them to re-evaluate. I requested May 29th for retirement. Between my leave and house/job hunting, that will put me out and going home around the 25th of April!!!!! Very excited and happy with the findings.

Ebennies change to pending approval - 3/14/14
Ratings are in - 4/7/14
Signing at 0700 in the morning. I was basically 1 day behind Meg through the entire process, until today when both our ratings came in.

congrats on signing Meg, but ur crazy thinking you will be out by end of April.

I signed my ratings very early Mar and still waiting for retirement orders.

enjoy the suck.

Yeah I just found that out this morning. So....went to PSD this morning. The lady says it takes a month to two to get retirement orders. So here is my question....why the FUCK does my PEBLO tell me to pick a day 30-60 days out when he knows it takes that long to get orders?!?!? How am I supposed to set up my move? I have a 2br apt. worth of stuff. How am I supposed to check out or plan for leave or request house/job hunting? This is the most ass backwards process in the history of processes. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy to have my ratings and all that, but how in the hell am I supposed to plan for any of this logistically???

Indeed, great news; congratulations! :)

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

So I spoke with my peblo and my MSC today, I found out why I have been in "preperation for decision" for 2 weeks. According to the Peblo their system stated inadequate exam, and the adequate exam was received yesterday. The MSC explained it as the rater didnt fully answer some questions or the raters supervisor didnt like the answers given. Everything should be in order now and hopefully by monday the ratings will go into pending approval.

Well I just got called for my Peblo meeting to go over my ratings. I have to be there at 1300 on April 9th. Cross your fingers... Excited and scared at the same time.. Lol

The name AngryMeg suits you well; you know how to portray frustration in words, lol... All I'll suggest at this point is to remain calm, the difficult part of the whole process is over and you did receive a rating that placed you on the retirement list... This is the last huddle, getting even more upset will create more stress. I don't have a date yet but what I did in the meantime is go to my Seps department and they acknowledged that I will be getting out soon, so they gave me my checkout sheet to begin the process with that. It has been a good distraction so I don't lose my mind. I will suggest you to do the same. You can actually begin making arrangements to have your stuff moved, right now we are on our own, and we just need to take initiative to make sure our process goes smoothly. I keep telling myself this is the last lap, and I'll finish strong vice just finishing at all. You have to remember the people handling our paperwork aren't as motivated to get out as we are, they might even hate their jobs, hence the slow movement. I hope this consoled you a little bit.

Remember keep smiling, even when you have no idea what’s going on... it keeps people from guessing your hand.

I appreciate what you are saying and I am trying to be patient. But I am a planner. I like to have everything mapped out and all contingencies covered. I cannot do that with this process and it frustrates me. I called the lady in charge of outgoing household goods at PSD and she said they cannot do ANYTHING for me until I have orders. I don't know what to do with that. I won't have those until basically my retirement day. So either I fork out like $5,000 to pay a company to move my stuff for me or I pay another 2 months of apartment rent and wait for them to come get my stuff. And I won't be getting the BAH for those 2 months either. Everything else in the process can wait. Checkout takes no time really, I already did TAPS and all that, and I can sell back leave if I have to. No biggie. The move is what is making me crazy.

wow..just called the VA and they said my proposed ratings were sent to my peblo...she wouldn't tell me a date though...i'm wondering if she is correct...sounds too good to be true?????

Called my Disability Attorney and he said he didn't see anything yet...hmmm wonder if the va lady had me twisted up?..getting my hopes up..lmao...actually didn't want them yet as i hadn't sold my house!!!

Why wouldn't you receive BAH, you should receive BAH until you are officially retired, leave and permissive TDY days are added to the tail end after you outprocess your base/post. I just had a guy that worked for me that was medically retired, he was on the road driving home within a month of receiving his percentages, he was able to get his stuff picked up really quickly, I would call and check and see how quick they can pick your stuff up after you get your orders, it's not a real long wait.

That being said I'm glad to see that everyone is moving, it hopefully means I'm not far behind since I was found unfit 24 Dec 2013, but I'm still suck in gathering of evidence and don't think it'll ever move.

Gimp... My stuff went to the rating stage on Mar 25th and got the call yesterday from Peblo and will meet tomorrow. So maybe yours will be soon..

The way my PEBLO explained it, the day I requested is my last day in the Navy. The household goods lady told me that there is a 6 week wait for movers right now. And I can't request them until I have orders. I will get orders shortly before I retire. So when I put my HHG shipment order in, I have to wait 6 weeks for them to get it. By that time I will already be retired and not receiving BAH. She said spring/summer is a really busy season and it takes 6 weeks from when you put in the request. So basically, I'm screwed.
