I'm an Air Traffic Controller beginning the Pre-IDES screening and I have a question about the rating of my medical condition. Because of a dysfunction in my binocular vision system, I have incredible difficulty with reading and other visually demanding tasks. In regards to Air Traffic Control, I can no longer fixate on aircraft in the distance without them appearing to shake, move, or even appear slightly double. The visual stress leads to other very difficult symptoms such as: dizziness, vertigo, nausea, headaches, difficulty concentrating. My question is, are all of the symptoms relevant to the rating I will receive from the DoD/VA? Does anyone have any advice on how to approach the PEB process to ensure that all symptoms are considered in the decision?
Thank You!
