VARR decided a week ago - now what?

I submitted a VARR which was decided a week ago. va.gov website said a claim was opened and closed on the same day, so I called va. Sure enough, the va guy told me that a one time "recon" request was decided on that day and that it would be sent back to the PEB in 1-2 days. I called my Peblo today and he couldn't tell me anything since my VARR results haven't shown up yet in "ePEB" (whatever that is) and he had no update. If it only takes 1-2 days for the PEB to receive the VARR decision and forward it to PDA, I'm wondering why no one has any updates. I called my MSC and he just told me to call my Peblo and the va, so everyone is just sending me in circles.

Is this typical? I'm starting to worry my VARR results have been lost in space and don't want to just sit and wait when maybe I should be asking someone to track down my possibly missing VARR decision.

I'm Army, btw, and my initial IPEB findings were 50% Dod/70% VA. I signed the 199 and asked for a VARR only on one condition.

The VARR decision and the updated DA199 should be available within the next 2-3 weeks, given the current caseload at the PEB. You see, if the relief that you requested is granted, the PEB has to issue an updated DA-199 reflecting the increased disability rating. If it is not, then there still has to be an update to reflect "no change" in the rating. And, while I know that you are impatient to receive your results, the Army PEB is actually the most expeditious in processing VARR returns amongst the DOD components.

Thanks! Got it. The va guy told me 1-2 days to go to the PEB and that set my expectations too high. I have no problem waiting another 2-3 weeks, just wanted to make sure this was a normal timeline. Sounds like it is.

Like everyone else I’m anxious to get this over with. And it seems the closer to the end I get, the more impatient I get. Good to know Army PEB is the best at processing VARR results. That helps me be put at ease.

I’ll follow up and let the forum know how long it ends up taking to get my new 199 after the va decided my VARR. So far I’m at the one week mark.

My VARR decision was released today exactly at the two week mark after the VA decided it.

VARR was denied on the basis the new evidence was inconsistent with my QTC exam. I had a mountain of medical treatment records going back two years that were entirely consistent but those did not outweigh the QTC exam. Funny thing the QTC examiner didn’t even ask me anything about my unfitting condition and when I asked why he said he would just do a record review. I haven’t seen the DBQ but evidently the examiner didn’t do much of a record review. I plan to appeal once I’m out.
