If my e-benefits stage went from pending decision approval to gathering of evidence and when I checked down in the "what we still need from others" it said, "requested separation documents", what does that mean and are my ratings almost done? Does this mean I should get my 199 back soon? Just not sure what they mean by separation documents.

That "usually" means that yes, they have completed your ratings and have sent them back to the PEB. The separation document is your DD214 - they will not finalize ratings until they receive that (plus another 1-6 months). The PEB will write up the DA199 and include the VA ratings write-up with all the rationale. It can take from a few days to a few weeks for the PEB to do the next part, but you should be hearing from your PEBLO relatively soon. Best of luck...Bob

My status changed on both MEB/PEB dashboard and VA E Benefits. On the MEB dashboard expected step jumped two rows to PEBLO Counsel and Soldier election. The current step is still in VA ratings. It says this could be a VTA data entry error and to contact the PEBLO. On the VA side it moved to preparation for decision. I have been in the VA Rating phase for 74 days. I am hopeful this means the 199 is incoming soon.
