So quick summary, I got a proposed rating of 100%. I’m on terminal leave and the retirement date is set for 18FEB24. As far as I’m aware my first VA check should be 01APR24. I’m trying to apply for a home loan and need proof of income, so my question is how long does it take to get your official rating and some form of proof of that payment for the future to provide to my underwriter?

Have you gotten your proposed rating yet from the VA? The lender should be able to use that.

You may be in no man's land if you have retirement date set. The good news is you don't need to wait until the first date paid. The day after you retire upload your DD214 to your VA claim. Once it's finalized you can print a benefits letter. I have seen others have memos from their commander stating still active duty through ETS date etc. but that isn't an option if you now have approved medical retirement and are just waiting to retire.

For reference. I hit the retirement list on Dec 29th. I had my official ratings, closed and letter on January 4th.
