I sent an Release of Information to the Dorn VAMC in Columbia, SC and got my medical record sent to me. However, I was one of the many that was having gastro trouble in late 2011 to late 2012. I was given a consult to gastro from my PCP there and they didn't call me for an appointment for over 6 months. Now, all of the notes from my PCP and the consult to gastro is missing from my medical record. I am not sure what to do. I am ok physically as i went to a physician in the private sector. Not sure what to do. All my messages during that time in secure message on healthevet are gone. I had a copy of my record before this but i lost it and it had the records of my gastro troubles. I am frustrated.

Call the IG office closest to you along with putting in a IRIS inquiry with the VA. @maparker This may interest you.

Thank You. I will do that this morning. Oddly my PCP at Dorn VAMC has stopped responding to my secure messages in healthevet. She use to respond in a 12 hours. Odd

Then I would definitely do it, does healthvet save messages? I haven't used that system yet... If it does you should print the messages and do screenshots as proof!

MyVaHealthVet is just like any other email just secured, not sure if the emails can be deleted by the VA side

From the people who run Healthevet, the deleted messages after 14 days go into a database and are stored indefinitely.

Mine are gone from that time frame. Poof they disappeared. I did see a private physician around that time and i mentioned it to him that i had seen my VA physician and he diagnosed me with IBS. I got a copy of that from 2012 yesterday. I see the doc's name mentioned and i have my phone records. That's all i have.

Any notes from the VA should be stored in your files when you visted regarding your condition! Stay on top of it, get your congressman in it if you have to
