VA finalized rating

Can someone who has received their first VA payment post-retirement respond to this question? I retired on 27 May 13 and still have not received my finalized rating as of yet. When can I expect to receive my first VA payment. My claim is held at the Seattle Regional Office
2.5 months post retirement for VA finalization (although they referred a couple of conditions and I'm still waiting on the outcome from them...they will not affect my rating as I'm already 100%). First VA check about 3 months post retirement. Just my experience, YMMV.
4 months post retirement. Average is one to a few months. Make sure sure are calculating your retirement as the day you stopped collecting pay from the military. Many confuse signing out on terminal leave for this date.
I've been waiting over 3 months but finally saw some movement to pending to decision approval on my ebenefits so hopefully nines will be finalized within 30 days

My claim status is still in the "preparation for decision " phase. You retired a whole month before me. Do you have an estimated completion date on your claim status? Mine is showing a time period for estimated completion of 7-23-2013 to 8-19-2013.
Thanks, I just don't understand why it takes them sooooo long just to finalize ratings. But, with my growing family, I'm anxious to start receiving my pay.

You should get an Army retirement check on the 1st of September. As far as the VA, it will be one to a few months
If I am not mistaken, you should also get your "regular" 15-26 paycheck on 1 august, then nothing until the retirement check 1 September.
Yes if they haven't paid that yet. I forgot about that. Mine took about three days to clear audit and be deposited. I left on the 26th of the month. Good catch.
Ranger, did you have to register with the VA after retirement prior to getting your first VA pay? I was just told that I should have registered with the VA.
As far as registration, I made sure my Ebenefits account was set up and then after my final out appointment I took my DD 214 to the VA MSC. He sends it to the VA and then everything else is automatic.
Did you get your final 214 to DFAS and the VA? They need that to build your pay account and, often times, it gets hung up along the way if you trust the military to do it for you (even though that is the way it is supposed to work).
I recommend you call DFAS retired accounts at 888-332-7411, option 1 and help push things along. Be prepared to fax your 214 if they ask for it. Be advised, Tuesdays and Thursdays are their down days (furlough due to sequester).

You can contact DFAS also and they can let you know if they processed you final pay yet and also if they recieved your HIGH 3, then that when you can say 30 days until retirement check
I know for myself I retired April 18th, DFAS didn't get my HIGH 3 till April 25th and then got my first retirement check about 30 days after that.
And as far as final ratings it took about 3 months before they pulled my proposed ratings out the pile, and sent me a letter dated July 24th that they are still processing my ratings
