VA C&P exam travel reimbursement?

Hello!

I've heard that I could be reimbursed for travel expenses for my C&P exam. I'm currently living in Minot, ND and this Sunday will be traveling 4.5 hours to Fargo for all day appts. on Monday.... I've tried to look up the form on the VA website but with no luck... Does anyone have any advice and guidelines about how to get reimbursed? I'll be staying in a hotel for a night too... Thanks!! MLS
 
I receive the travel reimbursement for just traveling 30 miles for every appointment I have at the outpatient clinic. At the clinic, I just tell them when I check in that I need travel reimbursement. They print out the form and I sign it. About 2 weeks later I receive a check in the mail. I am not sure what the minimum miles are but I think that if you travel more than 20 miles for an appointment, you need to ask for this reimbursement. Every little bit helps. I just found out about this 4 months ago for the clinic and I have been going there for 5 years.

My VA Hospital is 2 hours away and they have a travel office to go to to request your reimbursement. I go there with the letter that they sent and get the cash right there.

I know that they will also reimburse you for lodging since you are coming from that far away. Not sure how much it is or if it is just a % but make sure you keep all your receipts just in case.
