VA AVERAGE WAITING TIME

good luck- let me know what they say. My stuff has a suspense date of July 23rd and it has been there since 17 June
They said I'm in Final Review status. So, I'm calling next week expecting proposed ratings. My ebennies isn't changing, and hasn't for some time. lol

I was looking at my ebennies after I was found unfit a few days ago and just like samoandude, I had two claims open. Today I checked again and one of the claims has moved to Historical Claims and Status is decision notification sent. I wonder what that means. The other claim is still sitting under open claim (work in progress). Anyone understand this?

It means that the VA is done with your ratings and have sent them back to the PEB.

Thank you! That is good news! Does this mean I should hear back from my PEBLO within a week or it takes much longer to have everything finalized?

It takes much longer. Some people are saying they have been waiting close to 60 days as of now.

The VA's 1-800.
To everyone here, thanks for replying to my post and keeping it alive. It makes me feel better knowing that I have people here to converse with that are having the same issues with this whole system. I'll try to keep you all informed as much as I can. BTW.....how do I do that whole signature thing that everyone is doing? I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to post with the signature.

Scroll over your name in the top right corner of the screen.

man you're lucky OP.. I waited 2 months for just the MEB phase.

Just checked eBenefits....IDES stays the same for the 9/26-1-/14 anticipated completion date, but my Compensation Claim moved to Dec/2016-Mar/2017....WTF. My VA rater was contacted yesterday by Providence by a really good dude that I have been in contact with up there and hopefully that means he/she is working on my case. The ratings had a suspense date of 7/23 but I was told it should be done by the end of this week. Here's hoping....anyone have any inputs?

Don't worry about that compensation date. It's the IDES one you should be concerned with and that is not the timeline for just YOUR case. It's all the cases in your same phase/timeline. It can change throughout the day or week, but does not give you a definitely time for YOUR case. Just look for the status to change (i.e. PDA, etc) . That is more specific to YOUR case. From my understanding that compensation claim will close when you get out and another opened.

IDES just went historical today.....one step closer

My Benefits profile has said preparation for decision for a few weeks with the completion estimated 10/2/-10/20. I messaged the VA through their chat system today and they said the preliminary ratings were done and the PEBLO should have that information but she couldn't tell me what they were because the information wasn't in the file. Does that sound right? I don't even know who my PEBLO is yet. I thought the benefits profile would update if the findings were done or is that not until you accept them? Thanks ahead of time for any information you can provide

Your best bet is to call Providence f you are AF and get it from the horse's mouth that your ratings are actually being worked on. Unless your IDES claim goes historical it is a crap shoot as to which step it is actually on. Just my opinion

Is Providence who rates the Army as well?

upload_2016-7-29_0-50-51.pngThis is my status as of now. this is actually new. I'll update you whenever I get the chance. Thanks for all the replies!

As far as the Army goes, the whole process was smooth for me. As soon as it hit the VA, the numbers ahead of time started shrinking and shrinking. They're, for whatever reason (psh...backlog), prolonging this so-called "streamlined" process......ha! IDES.....

Just FYI on the Claims process
Claims Process
There are eight distinct steps that most claims for disability compensation follow. These phases may vary in time depending on the complexity of the claim, the amount of evidence that must be gathered to support the claims, and the type of evidence. You are strongly encouraged to submit as much evidence as possible with your claim to help minimize processing time. The eight steps of claims processing are as follows:

Step 1. Claim Received
Your claim has been received by the VA. If you applied online with VONAPP Direct Connect, you should see receipt in your list of Open Claims within one hour. If you applied through the U.S. mail, please allow mailing time plus one week for us to process and record receipt of your claim.

Step 2. Under Review
Your claim has been assigned to a Veterans Service Representative and is being reviewed to determine if additional evidence is needed. If we do not need any additional information, your claim will move directly to the Preparation for Decision phase.

Step 3. Gathering of Evidence
The Veterans Service Representative will request evidence from the required sources. Requests for evidence may be made of you, a medical professional, a government agency, or another authority. It is common for claims to return to this phase, should additional evidence be required.

Step 4. Review of Evidence
We have received all needed evidence. If, upon review, it is determined that more evidence is required, the claim will be sent back to the Gathering of Evidence phase.

Step 5. Preparation for Decision
The Veterans Service Representative has recommended a decision, and is preparing required documents detailing that decision. If more evidence is required, the claim will be sent back in the process for more information or evidence.

Step 6. Pending Decision Approval
The recommended decision is reviewed, and a final award approval is made. If it is determined that more evidence or information is required, the claim will be sent back in the process for more information or evidence.

Step7. Preparation for Notification
Your entire claim decision packet is prepared for mailing.

Step 8. Complete
The VA has sent a decision packet to you by U.S. mail. The packet includes details of the decision or award. Please allow standard mailing time for your packet to arrive before contacting a VA call center.
