Update on AF timeline off to the FPEB

So here is my updated Air Force timeline. Just got notification today of my FPEB date at Lackland. set for 27 August 2012--


15 December 2010 ACDF C-6/C-7
15 June 2011 carpal tunnel release right hand
19 September 2011 Informed by Dr. MEB will be started (officially coded in VMPF)
30 September 2011 Appointment to meet some admin guy at the hospital about MEB
4 October 2011 Met with CC to give him info to write his letter
4 October 2011 Met with PEBLO for first time
5 October 2011 Had ROM test at physical therapy

Late October was my C&P evals
December 8th package received at VA
June 25th got ratings from VA when I called the 800 #
July 15th Got Notification from PEBLO on AFPC’s decision 30% perm retirement 100% VA
Spondylosis and disk disease of lumbar spine---50%
cervicalgia---my neck Claimed as neck condition (referred to as antier cervical discectomy and fusion with persistant pain/weakness---30%
Adjustment disorder, with depression and insomnia---30%
Right carpal tunnel with ulner neuropathy---30%

(A) PEBLO--UPON RECEIPT OF THIS E-MAIL NOTIFICATION:

1. Forward the member’s original Medical Records and Mental Health Records (if the member is being treated for a Mental Health condition, irrespective if the member was medically boarded for the condition) ensuring all medical notes (included AHLTA) in the record are current as of mailing date and not the Medical Evaluation Board date, to: HQ AFPC/DPSDF (FPEB), 2320 CARSWELL AVE (Bldg # 7065), LACKLAND AFB TX 78236-5607.

2. Issue orders sending member TDY to Lackland AFB TX. Member’s orders should reflect 5 DUTY DAYS on station and add applicable travel days on either end (please take into consideration weekends). EXCEPTION: For those members whose case is found Not In The Line Of Duty (AF Reserve Fitness Cases) travel will be at the member’s own expense.



(B) PEBLO: Immediately contact the FPEB Personnel Staff if the member is unable to report on the scheduled report date: MSgt Judi Fulsom, judi.fulsom@us.af.mil and/or Mr. Chris Sanchez, DAFC (gilbert.sanchez.1@us.af.mil) who can also be reached at DSN 473-4296 or Commercial (210) 671-4296.



(C) PEBLO--MEDICAL/NON-MEDICAL ATTENDANTS, FAMILY MEMBERS AND WINGMEN: IAW AFI 36-3212, paragraph 7.8. Authorized Escort. An escort may accompany a TDRL member to the formal PEB when the member is not physically or mentally able to travel without help. Submit the request and supporting documents for review by HQ AFPC/DPSD before beginning travel. NOTE: Family members and Wingmen are welcome to accompany the member at personal or unit expense.



(D) MEMBER--TRAVEL AND BILLETING: The member is encouraged to contact the Lackland AFB Billeting Office (DSN 473-4277/2556/3622 or Commercial (210) 671-4277/2556/3622) at the same time travel arrangements are made to reserve lodging. On occasion, mbr might be billeted at Port San Antonio (Kelly AFB) and there is no shuttle service for that location; civilian taxi service or POV/rental car would be required. Free shuttle service from the airport to Lackland AFB and on Lackland AFB is available (schedules atch’d). There are several civilian taxi companies available, cost of travel from the airport to Lackland AFB is approximately $40.00.



(E) MEMBER--IN-PROCESSING AND UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS: Members must report to Lackland AFB , Bldg 7065 (Selfridge Administration Bldg) in uniform at 0800 hours for in-processing on the report date indicated on this notification. At that time members will be notified of their initial appointment with assigned counsel. All Active Duty/Reserve/Guard members will bring ABU/BDU or Flight Suit (if authorized) AND Class B (blue) uniforms. The Class B uniform is required for all Monday reporting/formal hearings. ABU/BDU/Flight Suit is required for Tuesday-Friday reporting/formal hearings. Individuals in Temporary Disability Retirement List (TDRL) status will report and present to the Formal Board in appropriate civilian attire. NO SERVICE DRESS UNIFORMS REQUIRED!



(F) MEMBER--LEGAL COUNSEL AND HEARING DATE: Members will consult with their assigned attorney once they have arrived and in-processed. The member’s Formal Hearing will normally convene within 3-5 duty days AFTER arrival. Members are encouraged to contact the Legal Staff at DSN 473-4295 or Commercial (210) 671-4295 with any questions. NOTE: If members retain civilian counsel, it is the members’ responsibility to ensure a signed Letter of Notification for Civilian Hire has been forward to the FPEB Personnel Staff. (G) MEMBER--SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION: Hand-carry all supporting documentation (do not place in checked-baggage).

(I) DIRECTIONS TO THE FPEB FROM THE GATEWAY INN, LACKLAND AFB TX:

1. Take a Right out of the entrance of the Gateway Inn onto Femoyer Street; travel 0.3 miles.

2. Take a Left on Metzger/Carswell; travel 0.9 miles.

3. If driving, take 2nd left into the parking lot immediately past building 7065. (Bldg 7065 is located on the corner of Selfridge and Carswell directly across the street from Inter-American Air Forces Academy (IAAFA)).

4. Enter ground level (suite 5) facing the IAAFA flags, (Selfridge/Carswell side) of the building directly below the fire escape stairs and next to the chaplains office (American flag).

If you got 30% from AF, and 100 from VA, why fight for higher AF rating? 30% is retirement... You could possibly LOSE retirement by fighting it..
 
# 1, if my va % was ever to lower, I would resort back to the AF pay, and 30% just doesn't cut it.
#2 , my base screwed me and did not add my lower back on the MEB as boardable condition , when in fact they should of, and if they had, my AF % would be 70 or 75 depending on what would of been added. I am not worried one bit about losing my retirement, they can't change %'s at the board like they used to in the legacy system. They can just move between categories, and I really doubt, 99% sure I am safe, so to me, it is safe!
On top I have a personal issue to prove my peblo wrong, as she is the one who said my condition could not be added at the beginning, and that the board would not side in my favor
