What is going to happen if I don't seek mental health treatment after I get separated and the re-evaluation comes up? Are you supposed to seek treatment and is it required? I don't know about you but I absolutely hated sitting in a chair talking to some psych over my problems. Will they lower my rating?

Its not definite that your rating will be lowered if you do not seek treatment but it is highly likely. Without treatment records, there is no way to substantiate your continued condition. If you are on TDRL you can be removed and/or your rating lowered.

I feel you there and if the option was there I would avoid treatment like the plague, but without records the evaluator has only your word to go off of. They cant just trust you unfortunately. So many people would walk in there and say they were doing terrible to increase ratings or say they are doing great because they have too much pride. also medication compliance is a factor in ratings and you cant be on medication without any sort of monitoring. Again, I understand not wanting to go but it truly is in your best interest to comply.
You might also seek alternative forms of treatment. If working one on one with a provider is not helpful, maybe take part in group sessions, etc. As stated above, it will likely make your TDRL re-eval more difficult without a record of treatment.

This is a great idea. Last year I started treatment at my local VA hospital for mental health. My local VA offers many group classes that average around 6 weeks long for 1 class per week. Attending these group classes would be great for your treatment record because they show that you are still pursuing medical treatment. They offer classes like sleep and nightmare management, stress management, anger management, PTSD symptom management, and so on.
As much as you might hate it, go until you hit PDRL at least. For re-evaluation they will want to see your progress. Either you will have improved (lower rating) stated the same (same rating) or declined (increase rating).
