Timeline question

I received a code 37 2 Nov 21, this was never discussed with me by my PCM and was definitely out of the blue. I spoke to the PEBLO office who told me to expect a NARSUM/CIS by the end of the week (5 Nov 21). Work/life got in the way and I called again on 6 Dec 21, I was told no later than the 13th it’d be coordinated with CC. Spoke again on the 15th inquiring on when it would be sent to CC, they said it was already sent but CC didn’t receive it. Spoke to CC on 18 Jan 22 (gave a buffer for the holidays) and they still have not received it, they contacted the PEBLO who said they’re still awaiting NARSUM.

Based off others timelines this seems unusual, any recommendations or reasonable explanations for why this part of the process is taking so long?

This part took the longest for me too, mostly because I didn't know how it was supposed to work at the beginning and people were dragging their feet, but once the PEBLO has the NARSUM and CIS things started moving along. I actually ended up just finding a blank CIS and literally filled it out for my commander, emailed it to her, and she signed it without even changing anything. Who knows how your condition impacts your job more, you or the CC? That's just my view. If I were you I'd start making calls, especially to your PCM or whoever is supposed to be writing your NARSUM (was mental health in my case). Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Good luck, this whole process has tested my patience like never before.

Not sure if you received your CC Statement already. If not, I agree with the info already stated-- filling out your own CC Statement allows you the opportunity to document whether or not you want to be retained and to explain how your job is/ is not impacted, especially with mission requirements which can be researched based on your AFSC. I completed my own after finding those requirements on this forum and how my specific injuries affected my duties. I.e. lifting, bending, unable to don heavy gear, etc.. I had a private attorney review my letter. My CC signed it.

Update: NARSUM completed in April, CC still hasn’t had a CIS requested and PEBLO has stated “it’ll be sent by the end of the day/week” several times over the last few months.

My best advice is keep on them. Sometimes you have to “push” them along a bit if you want things to move at a decent pace. Your PEBLO should be advocating for you as there is a timeline the CIS has to be completed. Request a meeting with your Commander and discuss you case. I did with mine and we discussed what I wanted my outcome to be, how my conditions impacted my job, and the whole process.
