Hello all,

I am in the Army, but going through Tripler for my MEB. I conducted my final C&P on the 28th. My PEBLO said VA is backed up and is taking 1-2 months to get the results back to them. However, my MSC is more optimistic...

Has anyone gone through this process at Tripler recently? Any insight is appreciated!

Thanks in advance...

This is close to accurate. I finished exams 1 march and received the exams back 26 March. So, a little over 3 weeks. I am hearing that the delay to get ratings back is similarly backed up, though you will see some people on here getting them back within a week or so, and some people have been waiting 60+ days.

Thanks for the reply!

How long did it take for them to generate the NARSUM- from the 26th?

I don't mean to seem impatient, it is tough to plan for future employment when you don't really know when you will be available... Preaching to the choir, I know...

I had my Narsum the next day and I signed it on the 28th. PEB unfit on 1APR.

I have an expedite on my case because I have been offered a job. I unfortunately may to decline the position if i do not receive ratings soon. The employer may have other opportunities later, but it's definitely a frustration.

I'm not making concrete plans until I get ratings back, and that's a little unnerving right now.

I hope you get them soon.

Do you think it is to late for me to add a memo to expedite? I can provide a job offer memo...

I wasn’t even aware that was an option...

It's definitely not too late. Contact an OMBUDSMAN and they can help you out with that. I turned mine in while I was waiting for my MEB/NARSUM.

You can also use a job offer to get you out of almost all of the SFL TAP classes.

Awesome thanks!

Would either of you be willing to provide the template you used for the expedite memo? Who did you have sign it?

Thanks!

Danielle,

I haven't attempted to do one yet... I am pretty early in the process still, so I want to wait and see how it goes...

Awesome thanks!
I went through Tripler for my MED board process and received my VA rating today. The claim was submitted 12 December 2019, after three request for clarification, it was closed on July 31, 2019. I had to stay on top of the situation, called the VA almost everyday, the PEBLO, and lost two job offers. I am glad the whole waitiing is over, now waiting for the FPEB to do their part.

That's crazy man! I hope mine doesn't take that long... Did you call the (800) number for the VA? I have called them before but they weren't very helpful. It's clear they read their responses...

How do you know they requested clarification three times?

Rommell, my MSC, submitted a query last week... Not sure if this will help though.

Do you have any advice?

Hi Danielle,

I used the attached expedite memo for my case. I followed the exact example sent to me by my PEBLO. I gave a copy to my PEBLO who sent it to VA through her chain of command, and uploaded a copy in ebenefits.va.gov for more visibility. I hope this helps.

BLUF: my case took longer because the VA wanted to ensure it meets its new pain and ROM policy. There were requests for clarification back and forth between the VA and QTC. Overall, the VA was looking out for my interest because QTC doctors were treating the process like a production line where everyone's medical issues are the same, rather than looking into their medical files and make a comprehensive decision.

Yeah, checked ebenefits and va.gov for updates, then call VA 1 800 # to check on the status. I found out from both my PEBLO and the VA rep that my case was sent back to QTC for clarification in March. In June the VA sent another request for ROM clarification, my file was sent to Houston for an independent medical review; the doctor made general statements and returned to VA. VA sent a third request mid-July for more specific clarification; I called QTC and told them I would request another company to review my file if they screw up the third time. A lady was nice enough to reroute my file from California to a provider who reviewed records with 14 medical issues and sent back to VA last Friday (same day). With that out of the way, I called and stopped by my MSC supervisor's office and ask them to look into my claim; I literary call everyone involved in my case every day! I told the VA to be specific and not read me the script, as I am already aware of it after six months.

My recommendation to you is patience and be consistent with your phone calls. Call those who can impact your case for assistance, be kind to those you speak to on the phone; they tend to help you if you are kind. I'm usually pissed when I call; then I explain my frustration to them, then they help with little info here and there. Follow up immediately with QTC if a request for clarification is sent to the company. I usually call them as soon as I get off the phone with the VA. I hope this help.

What’s mess. It’s too bad you had to go through all that...

Do you know when the PEB found you unfit and requested ratings? Just trying to gauge...

I also have a few claims that involve pain. My PEBLO believes that’s why my case is taking longer than usual.

12 February 19: Found unfit
28 February 19: Unfit Packet recieved by VA
18 Dec 18: Request for evidence 1 closed
3 Jul 19: Request for evidence 2 closed
11 Jul 19: Request for evidence 3 closed
11 Jul 19: Request for evidence 4 closed
19 Jul 19: Request for evidence 5 closed
25 Jul 19: Request for evidence 6 closed
31 Jul 19: Claim closed.

I saw more movement in my claim after I submitted my expedite memo in June and called the VA,QTC, PEBLO, and MSC daily for my case status.
