retired back in September 70% PTSd TDRL. Told by my PEBLO she would contact me when she got info on my TDRL re-eval date. LOng story short, did not get a call from her but a call from the VA making an appt for my PTSD. This was 8 months after retiring. Went to my appt with a contracted psychologist discussed my issues and when I asked him if this appt was for my tdrl, he had no clue. i checked on benefits and under open claims it said disability claimed: PTSD (increase). I have asked local VA offices and no one seems to know whether this appt I had was for TDRL or not. Any ideas? Now ebenefts says preparing for a decision. But I never submitted any new claims asides from the one i did when i retired and have been receiving pay from. Any ideas what this appt was for?

Indeed, the same occurred during my six-month PTSD re-evaluation; no worries! The DoVA is performing their portion as per the 38 CFR 4.129. Upon completion, you shall have a new DoVA rating for PTSD whether its increased or remains the same.

Moreover, from an U.S. Army perspective, you can contact HQ USAPDA to inform them that you haven't received your TDRL six-month PTSD re-evaluation but you have your new DoVA rating (when available) from the C&P examination. The TDRL Branch will forward the new C&P Examination and other documentation to the PEB for an initial adjudication review. If accepted then the PEB shall officially adjudicate your DoD LDES case file at that point.

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

warrior thanks! So you are saying that this appt might have been the "actual" TDRL re-eval?

You are welcome! :)

Indeed, I was informed by the DoD TDRL Branch that your DoVA C&P Examination (appointment) is a viable substitute medical event that can be used in lieu of a DoD re-evaluation (appointment) during the TDRL timeframe.

Currently, I am awaiting my scheduling of a Formal PEB hearing via the aforementioned DoD LDES process so it's definitely feasible. Take care and please continue to enjoy life!
