What happens after I get my rating and get out? Surgery wide I think I'll have to work after I'm out and I need surgery but financially for my kids I'd have to work. with the surgery I require and hopes to get my ankle fixed it's a min of 8 weeks recovery and 6 months physical therapy and if it goes well id get 70% of my ankle corrected. How would I do this having to work to support my family. I wish they'd let me get it done but the PEB said no to surgery because of my med board. I've exausted all other means of fixing it.

If you can't bear weight on it, try to apply for social security since you are going through the board process. If you are active duty, they will expedite your claim. If approved, you can get treatment for it while drawing social security and once recovered, attempt to work again. Have you filed with the VA? They are good about covering medical costs depending on which one you are by and if you are service connected. I am assuming they gave you a provisional rating, so that would help you out.

Good to know... if only my sleep apnea were service connected... oh well, maybe I can get the seton placed or skin tags removed. Recovery on that is 3-5 weeks.

So I got 0% for my ankle. It's bugging me.

And my ratings came back 90% VA 70% DOD
