SSDI

I have done everything regarding my SSDI claim. I submitted all the medical evidence while on Active Duty in May under the Wounded Warrior (expedited claim). I also went to a CE exam.

I am not asking for a priority but it seems as though they are taking their time. The evidence is all there.

Questions:
(1) Anything I can do to speed up the process without pissing in anyone's cheerios? From a financial stand point it is tough just getting by on my pension ie family. I also am reluctant to take unemployment because I was told this can negatively affect the application.

(2) Is this a good or bad sign? When I called once they told me they are in the decision phase.

Do you know who you talk too, the person that is working on your claim (do you have a case worker?) or someone at the front desk.... When was the CE exam and when did you hear that they had everything they needed and it was acually being submited?

It's a tough spot to be in and I think "potentially" you have a lot to lose should you take unemployment while application is pending. However, with that said, you do what you need to in order to survive. My argument would be something along the lines of "I had no other choice and I didn't know if I would be approved, therefore I had to actively look for work as a back-up."

Just my two cents.
